The rumors are starting to come fast for Superman: Legacy, and director James Gunn is starting to address a few of them.

As the Writer's Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes continue, work isn't progressing really on any projects. That doesn't, however, mean people won't start coming up with some of their own theories.

Over the weekend, Gunn answered a few questions on Meta's new Threads platform – which you can't link to yet – about the future of the DC Universe, and Superman: Legacy specifically.

One rumor was based on an article saying that Gunn including characters such as Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and more was ordered by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav to include them. The theory was that this would make the studio more attractive to a future buyer. Gunn replied, "Of course not."

There was also some speculation that the recently announced Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths movie is actually a film for Gunn's reboot, but his reply was a simple, "No."

With just under two years to the release of Superman: Legacy on July 11, 2025, we're sure there will be numerous more rumors that need to be shot down in the coming months.
