Anthony Carrigan joins the cast of Superman: Legacy as Metamorpho

Anthony Carrigan is returning to the worlds of DC to play Metamorpho in the upcoming Superman: Legacy.

Wednesday has proven to be a good day for Anthony Carrigan. He received an Emmy nomination for his role in Barry, and now he's joining the cast of Superman: Legacy as Metamoprho.

Metamorpho made his debut in 1965 in The Brave and the Bold #57. Rex Mason was a soldier of fortune who was exposed to the rays of a meteor inside an Egyptian pyramid. It transformed him into a being who could transform into any element found in the human body.

Carrigan is familiar to DC fans having played Victor Zsasz on the Fox series Gotham.

It has been a busy week for the cast of Superman: Legacy with previous announcements including Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner. All of these actors will join the previously announced David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Superman: Legacy will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.

Not sure if it's the best pick.
He usually plays more eccentric characters while Metamorpho is usually, despite the powers, a more straight laced down to Earth guy (think Ben Grimm without the New York accent)

Another character?
I know some or most of these will be minor roles. But I have no desire to watch a feature-length preview for other DCU movies, yet I'm afraid that's what this is pointing to.

I'm not gonna say this can't still be a Superman-centric character, but this is turning into the kind of superhero movie I just don't care to see, especially from a "first movie".

I was hoping that James Gunn would break his well worn formula for Superman, but I guess not.
