That's always a difficult question for me because I have to separate the category into "villains" and "antagonists."
To me, there's a difference between a straight up villain and an antagonist. A straight up villain wants death, destruction, chaos, and absolute control while an antagonist strive towards a specific goal that is actually understood but not necessarily "right."
...If that makes any sense.

Hit the nail on the head. The DCCU blows the television stuff out of the water. Just watch Man of Steel and see if anything that Arrow or Flash has done can even compete.

1 likeTrue, but I feel that people saying the DCTV is already better than the DCCU are fooling themselves. The cinematic universe will be epic and push boundaries while the DCTV will always be held back.

1 likeAs a feminist, the slapping is fine because it fits the characters and I expect the plot to deal with the Harley/Joker abuse story well. Peeing on her would be overkill though, if they go with overkill it'd need to be more like cartoon violence.

I've been tired for years of doubters poo-pooing the idea of anything that restricts the fan base of potentially enjoying something. The Green Lantern: Animated Series proved that Green Lantern doesn't have to use his aura or constructs 100% of the time, especially when on-planet. He's space law enforcement. Not all police officers in cop dramas are expected to have their gun in their hands throughout the entire show.

I think so if it fits. It would most likely be dealt with offscreen or without much focus, like cap shooting the aliens in the avengers.

The reason i think many people reacted so negatively was the fact that zod was a main villain and not just a henchman. In most superhero movies, the heroes kill people/things, but it is dealt with offhandedly rather than as the main focus. Which is why i doubt people would react as strongly if it were aliens that were not so humanoid.
1 likePeople really did lose their shit at that point and for no reason. At least in BB Bruce has a reason not to kill because he holds justice most high not revenge. MOS did nothing to show why supes won't kill so I am fine with it. Besides killing Zod can factor as a reason to create a no kill rule unless when absolutely necessary of course

Ra's could have still jumped off and survived in a coma or something (not difficult for screenwriters to come up with some crazy idea or directly factor the Lazarus pits if they went that route ). Still I see it as a moment where Ra's accepted his fate (he did screw up the brakes so he sealed his fate at that moment making it a suicide mission just as Talia's mission of flying out changed at the end moment). That scene still baffles me .
