6. Vicki Vale
Over the years, Vicki Vale has served as both a love interest of sorts and someone who is determined to uncover the truth about Batman's secret identity (a quest she eventually succeeded in before "The New 52" reboot). As she's around the same age as Bruce Wayne, introducing her in Gotham as a friend of Bruce's or perhaps even a student reporter could add an interesting wrinkle to the series. Of course, if they made her a little older, she could even be a full-blown journalist by the time we meet her. Though Gotham will be set primarily from the perspective of Detective Jim Gordon and the police department, introducing a newspaper to that dynamic would add something new to the show as it moves forwards and continues to show us another side of the city!
