10 reasons why a Batman theme park would be awesome

8. A Bat Museum

The theme park would also offer an opportunity that most Batman fans must surely already be calling for: a museum dedicated to everything related to the world’s greatest detective.

As well as articles of interest, including the earliest comic books featuring the character, the on-site museum could collect rare and valuable merchandise and film and TV memorabilia including costumes and props.

Basically, it could become a Mecca for all Batman fans who want the theme park experience, as well as somewhere that celebrates the property behind the entertainment, telling a concise and most importantly fan-targeted history of the property in a way that has rather unthinkably never been seen before.

Everything that's everything from the movies, stored in one place...

With Disney likely to bring in more Marvel presence at Disneyland and Disneyworld, the stage is set for DC to link up with Warner Bros to give one arguably their most famous property an opportunity to pull back some focus, and the museum in itself would represent an essential destination.

I wouldn't even have a problem if, like harry potter, universal added this on to their parks...the potter films were distributed by warner bros so it could happen..

I 100% agree that a Batman theme park should happen! I mean, come on! It's Batman! Here is how I would do it, I'd have it be a Batman themed park like Disney World/Land with 3 or 4 different "mini-parks" like Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and/or Animal Kingdom.
One of the parks would be a Downtown Gotham themed park with Iceberg Lounge, the Narrows, an Arkham Asylum haunted house (like you mentioned), and a GCPD roller-coaster. Plus, a movie theater that plays all the Batman films from the old serials to the Nolan movies.
Another park would be a more Batman-themed park where there would be a Batcave, which would be the Batman Museum, along with a few roller-coasters. There would also be Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Robin, Red Hood, Huntress, Oracle, and other Bat-hero themed stuff there.
Then I would have a Villains park where there's a Mad Hatter's House of Mirrors, a Joker roller-coaster, a Bane-themed strength challenge, and other stuff like that for villains like Two-Face, Penguin (could put the Iceberg Lounge here...), a death-defying Scarecrow ride, Ra's al Ghul, Hush, and a ton of other villains.
And finally, I'd have a Justice League themed park to expand on the Batman-universe. There'd be a Superman ride, a Flash ride, an Aquaman waterpark, as well as something for Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, and Green Arrow.
Anyway, that's my dream theme park, I'd go there all the time. And of course, the hotel would be a Wayne Manor hotel and there would be a Haly's Circus (but this time we'd secure the ropes).

Wow, how has this not become a reality yet? Everything in this article makes so much sense. They really need to get on this. I hate rollercoasters, but if it's a whole park like this? I'd be there every possible summer!

This would be an amazing theme park! Warner Brothers Movie World Gold Coast Australia already has a large Batman portion of the theme park dedicated to Batman: 2 Batman rides, Batman shop, Gotham City Town Hall (which houses a Batman themed fast food burger shop) and have costumed Batman characters and Batman vehicles... I nearly lost my mind out of pure excitement when I went there :)

I've had a similar idea for months. But rather than just making it Batman themed, why not make it for the whole DCU. I was thinking it would be similar in size to such parks as Universal Studios or Magic Kingdom, where the park is broken up into different sections such as Gotham, Metropolis, Oa, Thermyscira, the Watchtower, and more.
Tourists could stay in the Watchtower Hotel and take a "shuttle" down to Earth and visit the different areas in the parks.
Gotham would be pretty much what is described in this article, but instead of Wayne Manor being a hotel, insert a batwing rollercoaster with visitors entering the ride through Wayne Manor's doors and making their way through the Batcave in order to get to the ride. This would make waiting in line way more interesting as they pass by the different suits, batmobiles, and profiles for each villain.

  Pretty much this. Why focus on just Batman when there's a whole DCU to discover? Sure, Batman can be the biggest draw, but making it "Batman and Friends" instead of "The Justice League" sounds like a mistake to me.

before I even read the whole article, it does truly amaze me how well Batman spreads across all forms of entertainment AND THRIVES! Batman has:
-one of biggest movie trilogies of all time (and before that, another set of huge movies, the 1st of which held box office records for almost a decade)
-one of the best cartoons of all time (plus many many more cartoons)
-one of the coolest video game series I've ever played (plus others)
-and from what I understand, Batman is not just the best selling monthly comic. It's like the whole top 5 (meaning the different versions like Batman, Batman and Robin, Dark Knight, Batman INC cover most of the top spots all by themselves)

Funny you mentioned the drinks. I'm a homebrewer and I'm currently working on three different beers based on Bats, the Joker, and Two Face from the Dark Knight. Thinking about some for the villains in the other two movies of the Nolan trilogy as well.

This would be epic but I almost see it as a DC theme park with major areas of the park being set aside for a Metropolis section and a Gotham City section, granted I know where I'd be as soon as I walked in the gate.

You guys do know this almost happened right? Back in the 90's when Universal was looking to expand,they worked up plans for an entire Batman theme park complete with giant Batman statue. Sadly,they went in another direction and Marvels Islands of Adventure was born. Heres a link to what could have been....

The question is WHERE would such a park be located in order to keep business running all year round? LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION is key.
My only guess is either SoCal or Orlando Florida. The problem with Florida is that it would have to compete with other Theme Parks and sustain that interest to stay in business.
I think SoCal, the LA area would work best. Disneyland is supposedly not that great so competition would not be a problem.
Hell, maybe even SAN DIEGO where the weather is even nicer and it would get crazy during COMIC-CON.
