The MPAA has released the Superman rating, and it has unsurprisingly come in with a PG-13 in the U.S.

The Motion Picture Association has announced its rating for Superman, and it landed with a PG-13, just as many DC films did before it. As to the reasons for the rating, the board listed the following:

"Rated PG-13 for violence, action and language."

No word as of yet as to the rating in other territories around the world.

Superman will serve as the first live-action entry expressly made for the new DCU.  In addition to featuring Superman, the film will also introduce the first appearances of Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Cat Grant, Steve Lombard, Lex Luthor, Eve Teschmacher, Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner, the Engineer, and Krypto the Superdog. Some rumors have indicated we will also see the first appearance of Supergirl, who is set to be played by Milly Alcock. She will then appear in her own film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

The cast of Superman is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer , Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher MacDonald as Ron Troupe, and Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard.

Superman will hit theaters in wide release on July 11, 2025. Early screenings will take place on July 8.
