Nicholas Hoult will be playing Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman, and he's already sharing some thoughts about the character.
Speaking with Deadline during the AFI Fest, Hoult was asked about his take on one of the most famous comic book villains in history. "I think it's too early to say what's different about my Lex Luthor. I think I just loved working with James Gunn. I think he's an incredible director and has such a great sense of that world, that story, those characters. So I just put my trust in him." He went on to add, "And hopefully, I'm a fan of Superman and Lex Luthor as a character. So hopefully, we've done something special with it that people enjoy."
James Gunn has confirmed that, as recently as this past weekend, he is working on the first trailer for the film, so hopefully, we will be seeing some footage in the not-too-distant future.
The cast of Superman is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, and María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer.
Superman will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
