With 2025's Superman wrapped and in post-production, James Gunn has wasted no time in diving into his next project, as the second season of the hit series Peacemaker has just started filming. At this point, we're all aware that Gunn is no stranger to teases and early looks at various aspects of production, and he has revealed quite a doozy in a recent post on social media.

While the little merman might be up for some debate, the main image there appears to be the official logo for A.R.G.U.S. Introduced by Geoff Johns and Gene Ha in 2012's Justice League #7, A.R.G.U.S. is a United States federal agency that is tasked with dealing with more... superhuman level incidents than your typical organization. The full name of the agency is Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans, though considering notable characters ranging from Steve Trevor to Amanda Waller to Sasha Bordeaux have been put in charge at different points, you'd be forgiven for thinking that its missions aren't always altruistic in nature.

No word yet on how A.R.G.U.S. will come into play in Peacemaker, but with Steve Agee returning as John Economos and appearances from Viola Davis' Amanda Waller a definite possibility, it's no surprise that the organization will be involved somehow.

Peacemaker season 2 recently began production. The cast will include returning actors John Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag St., Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee as John Economos. David Denman and Sol Rodríguez have joined in unknown roles, and Saturday Night Live alum Tim Meadows has signed on as a member of A.R.G.U.S.

Gunn has also confirmed that season 2 is set in the new DCU and not the old DCEU. How this will be addressed, if at all, has not yet been revealed.

No firm release date has been announced for Peacemaker season 2.
