James Gunn has marked the anniversary of David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan's screen test and called it "magic."
In a post to social media on Monday, Gunn shared some thoughts on the screentest. "One year ago today David and Rachel screen-tested for Clark and Lois. When they first read together it was like magic." He went on to add, "What a wonderful year it’s been with two of the most extraordinary, vibrant, and meticulous actors I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. I can’t wait for you to see them on screen in just a little over a year."
The Superman cast is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer, Mikaela Hoover and Christopher MacDonald as Cat Grant and Ron Troupe respectively, and Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard.
Superman will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
