If you were hoping to welcome the new year with a photo of the new Superman costume, it looks as though you're going to have to wait a little bit longer.
Earlier this week on Threads, James Gunn was asked, "What's the likelihood of seeing what [Superman's] suit looks like before filming March?" Gunn's reply was simple and to the point, "Zero-point-zero."
There has been a tremendous amount of speculation as to what Gunn's take on the Superman suit will be. There are those who would like to see the return of the trunks and/or the yellow "S" on the cape, and just as many who would rather keep the trunks in the past. What Gunn chooses to do with the suit is sure to please one group, but not the other.
Our main hope, for now, is that an official photo is released before the inevitable set photos spoil it with a poorly lit version.
The cast is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer.
With filming slated to begin in March, and numerous other roles to still be announced, there are sure to be more announcements in the coming weeks.
Superman: Legacy will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
