Zack Snyder shares new photo of Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke in 'Justice League'

Earlier today, we learned that Joss Whedon shot some of the Justice League credits scene involving Lex Luthor and Deathstroke. In what seems like a direct response, Zack Snyder sent out a photo letting fans know that he shot part of the scene as well.

Snyder shared a new photo of Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke from the Justice League credits scene on Vero this evening. The reshoots only changed some of Luthor's dialogue at the end, when he says "To put it plainly, shouldn't we have a league of our own?".

In fact, Snyder also confirmed that he still hasn't seen Justice League. When a fan asked him about the new Lex Luthor dialogue that Whedon added, Snyder replied "what is this?".

Joe Manganiello is currently working on an origin movie for Deathstroke. He spoke about his incredible passion for the character in a recent interview, which I highly recommend checking out.

Chris Begley... I have deep respect for your accomplishments and the work you've done for Batman/DC fandom. In actuality Zack Snyder posted the image today on Vero with only two words - "This fella" followed by #MonteCarlo. Where are you getting the rest of your conclusion? You also wrote, "In fact, Snyder also confirmed that he still hasn’t seen Justice League." But the exchange between the fan and Zack Snyder took place in November of 2017, five months ago. How can you say that he hasn't yet seen the film? I know that details like this are considered by most to be petty, but in deference to accuracy and truth...what happened?

He obviously cares a lot about this story and his experience with making this movie with these lovely people he undoubtably bonded and worked hard with for a long time. Let him grieve or fight the power or (one can pray) tease the upcoming release of his cut how he sees fit for now, and in the meantime enjoy these awesome new looks we’re getting of cool behind-the-scenes stuff.

      It doesn’t matter that they got paid. Work got wasted and the film ended up being worse than probably what people assumed his original cut would be like.
      And his films did click audiences, but not close to MCU films, which is what WB was hoping to achieve. They wanted MCU numbers, and instead of removing Zack before production even started, they rushed and ended up removing him a few months too late. And so everyone had to pay the price for their screw-up.

        Yes they did screw up, but zack shortcomings have nothing to do with the mcu. Most of the audience didnt like bvs, the box office and critic proves it. Even if zacks original cut was intact, it would've still flop at the b.o, even if the movie was good. Bvs killed the hype, just look at the opening weekend, when people still thought it was zacks movie.

        However, what DOES give us a good general idea of that is looking at sites like IMDB, CinemaScore, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic, as well as applying the common sense truth that most people simply tend to like most movies (see Suicide Squad and Transformers), which would all suggest more people like BvS than you BvS haters would like to admit.

        Wrong.Bvs had the same cinemascore as catwoman, a 66% audience score, 6.6 on imdb. Those are all bad scores, and most of the high ratings are from blind fanboys who likes anything zack puts out. People liked transformers and SS because they are entertaining popcorn movies, which bvs failed in that area, even JL was more entertaining, which explains why the audience likes it more than bvs.

      They should fire him before starting the production of JL and give time to the new director to complete him movie by postponing its release. Or they should keep Snyder, let him finish his work as he thought better and promote the JL movie as much as possible. With what they did you have a movie without a director, which is weird.

  Directors never truly let the movies they never got to finish go.
  Just look at Richard Donner - he was bitter as hell in all the interviews he did for Superman in regards to him getting fired before he could finish the 75% he shot for Superman II (Superman I and II were shot back to back until it went over-budget).
  And then when he finally did get to pseudo-finish what he started via the "Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut" DVD release, he even plainly stated something along the lines of "Anything that was actually good about Superman II was shot by me". And he said that 25 years after the fact.
  And it's just logical - when you pour your heart and soul into something, of course it stings when you can't finish it.
  Hell, even when they DO finish it, a lot of filmmakers still can't let it go. Case in point: George Lucas - the original trilogy was a marvel just the way it was, but did he let it go? Nope. It's no secret that Lucas was disappointed in the way the original Star Wars films turned out because he had to compromise on a lot of things due to budget constraints. He kept tinkering away with every subsequent re-release of the films, all the way back to 1979 with even minor tweaks like adding the subtitle "Episode IV - A New Hope" to the opening crawl (when originally, it was just "STAR WARS") because he couldn't let it go. He even had a famous statement that was used as the title of one of the documentary featurettes on the Episode II DVD - "Films aren't released: They ESCAPE". And by that, he meant that directors like himself could tinker away forever, but they have deadlines to meet so it's quite literally YANKED out of their hands pretty much.
  Lastly, JL was the last thing Snyder was working on when his daughter tragically committed suicide. Whether by choice or unconscious instinct, that'd be hard to let go.

If they ever do a Deathstroke movie, they had better go full-on bad guy for once. He shouldn't be portrayed as an anti-hero or a villain with a moral compass.
I think it's time someone in these cinematic universes actually created a movie about an actual bad guy with no redeeming qualities. Slade is not a nice guy, he's psychotic and doesn't necessarily kill for money; he's basically Batman without all the rules. Woman and children aren't off limits for him.
The DCEU and MCU has sold us on their quasi-villains, the Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy. But no one has actually gone on and made a movie about an actual irredeemable villain. I think Deathstroke should be that guy.

  It depends on what they decide to sample from. Sometimes he is exactly what you said, sadly I don’t see them going that route. Other times he is kind of this anti-hero, but with his own motives or goals driving his heroic acts, like his reluctant Titan team ups, other times he’s a background gun hired just to get paid and move on. His code of honor has been so up and down in the comics, who knows what direction it will go.
  I agree though. There’s no reason he can’t be an actual villain protagonist though. He doesn’t have to be a good guy/anti-hero to be relatable to audiences. His history is full of terrible things that can be explored to show why he is the man that he is and add some type of sympathy to this vindictive hitman.

To be honest, I think Snyder is just trolling people by pretending he doesn't know what they're talking about. I think he has seen the movie and is just having fun by messing with people.

I really hope Deathstroke gets to stick around for a while I can't wait for the solo film, and I hope to see him featured in other films as well. That still of him literally just standing on a boat made me lose my mind in the theater
