'Wonder Woman 2' brings in 'The Expendables' writer to work on the script

Dave Callaham, co-writer of The Expendables starring Sylvester Stallone, will help Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns write Wonder Woman 2.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Jenkins brought Callaham in after working well with him on another project, Jackpot. That was going to be her next movie, before she signed a record-breaking deal earlier this week to come back for Wonder Woman 2.

Wonder Woman 2 is rumored to take place in the 1980s during the Cold War. It's scheduled for a December 13, 2019 release, though that will likely change.

  @NotRedHood:disqus I take back what I said about DOOM(2005). Just finished watching the whole movie. As a fan of the Game series, I kinda enjoyed the movie.(Didn't expect to :D) Sure it had a bad movie vibe throughout but it was entertaining, especially the final 30 mins . If it could be made in this day and age with today's CGI and monsters straight out of the DOOM 2016 version. It would be so much fun.

    Yeah, the movie is a blast when you turn your brain off and lower all expectations. I love those marines in space fighting monsters type movies. Plus you get to see pre-fame Karl Urban and The Rock going at each other. They ruined the lore in that movie by making the monsters come from experimenting rather than from hell. I hope they make a true DOOM movie one day, just like they made a true Dredd movie. Although one is a comic and the other is a video game, but adaptation wise you get what I mean hopefully. Like you said, with today's CGI the movie would look insane. The main actor can pretty much be no name, since the doomguy doesn't talk at all. I guess it'd be very similar to Dredd in an instance that the main protagonist would always have a helmet xD.

    I don't think the DCEU stars need to pump the tires of yet another Spider-man movie or yet another successful movie in the MCU. We'll see what happens when Black Panther is release & if it's successful. Though, I'm not certain tire pumping needs to happen there either.

      I'm a fan of Spider-man & a fan of the MCU and even I'm not firing off poppers & sparklers about how much Homecoming is making. I've seen 5 Spider-man movies already & I don't think it touches 2.5 of Raimi's movies. Plus, I'm pretty use to the success of the MCU.
      Unless we get a MCU clunker, I'm pretty lukewarm on their success until probably Infinity War. That seems to be the next level to get to. After a decade of these movies, let's see how it all comes together. If that's able to top Marvel's The Avengers, then I'll be impressed again.

      If I recall from my old podcasting days, "Manga" means "comic book".
      I actually thought this version of Spidey was better in Civil War then Homecoming. I also didn't care about his classmates & thought his motivation of wanting to be an Avenger instead of Uncle Ben was a huge misstep.

  Kids don't love Wonder Woman? My 4yo daughter has been getting her toys as a gift for every girl birthday party she's been invited to this year.
  Although I do think some of the publicity surrounding Wonder Woman has been misleading, I do believe people have been running out to see a movie about her. It is still her first ever movie. It did get very good word of mouth; incorporating aspects of movies from two other red & blue colored characters didn't hurt either.

  Although out of the three I think Wonder Woman was the better movie, I'm not convinced some of the "brought women to tears" type stuff hasn't been exaggerated. Some of the accolades, such as "first strong female role model" are rewriting history.
  And I'm not convinced the Marvel formula is stale. Bond has been running the same formula for decades & they're still relevant & profitable. Hell, the DC & Marvel comic book movies have had the same formula for decades.
  I think Homecoming (which also had exaggerated accolades) just wasn't that strong a movie.

      I'm going off the articles about the movie. They label the movie based on the French comic book. Like Barbarella was.
      Kent is considered the first modern-day comic book character. The Phantom pre-dates him. I'm not certain about that with Timely. They started in 1939.
