Batwing confirmed? I think so. Yesterday we saw pictures of a strange looking new vehicle, and today we have video of it in action! subaruwrxfan is back with 1080p HD video of Batman's new ride in The Dark Knight Rises. He got up close and personal, you can really get a good look at it. I've added a few more videos of the Batwing in action, you can even see Batman in the cockpit. Check those out after the break.

It's hard to tell but, doesn't batman helmet look different in the video as well? In the previous video's we saw the same looking outfit from dark knight, maybe an upgrade sometime after that...

Looks awesome. Hopefully this one can't be shot down with a single bullet. That was one of the dumbest moments of Batman '89.

I will admit that I was worried that this was going to be lame but from what I'm reading this is a helicopter more than anything. Which makes it more real, especially for a Nolan movie. Now that I look at it, it really does look like a cool chopper!

What the heck is going on in Pittsburgh? Geez now this vid makes me wish i lived there instead of the Netherlands. I thought the Tumbler and the badpod were refreshingly superduper cool but this thing, seeing batman in, it is just mindblowingly badass. Kudo's to Mr. Fox :-)
I have no doubt that this movie will be ICON and definitely a very special milestone so to speak in the category superhero movies. The Dark Knight wrote history by breaking a lot of records and The Dark Knight Rises will make it's own insane records. I have no doubt.
Shine the Oscars baby and reserve them for Nolan and Batman because they're coming to blow us all away in theaters next year! :-D

Before I forget; it should be The Batpod ofcourse... :-)

I don't understand the complaints, I don't see how you can compare this movie to Joel Schumacher's movies just because he's so called pulling out the "big guns" lmfao, you could have said the same thing about TDK.
The Joker, Two-Face, The BatPod, Sal Maroni, The Scarecrow etc...

If that footage is in the movie, I hope they follow it with a scene of Bruce taking fiying lessons. They better use CGI or somthing. He looked like he almost crashed a few times. It almost reminds me of a flying version of the shagohod from Metal Gear Solid 3. Cool though!

BTW.Wouldn't it have been better if they had released an official photo of Batman in the Batwing?Like what they did with Catwoman on the Batpod? They knew these pics and videos were coming...So,why didn't they do it?Does anyone know whether they're gonna do it soon?It will also be great as a first official photo of Batman

Like I've been saying all along this film is going to look entirely different once post-production is finished. Looking at that aircraft, hovercraft, Bat-Chopper, Bat-Wing or Bat-Plane or whatever it is, I'll guarantee you that CGI is involved in someway.
Also the scenes they are filming are all during the day (which can be changed in PP) but look at the circumstance in which these scenes are being filmed. Do you really think Batman is going to be cruising down the middle of road in Gotham? These scenes being filmed might be used for a crash sequence or motion sequences and the whole conception of the craft might not be fully completed until PP.
No one knows anything about this thing or the plot or the story. So it's almost impossible to speculate. It looks realistic and it looks awesome. But I'll guarentee you one thing, this isn't the finished version in what we are looking at.

Another thing that hasn't been discussed is this could be an part of the Tumbler like the Bat-Pod was. Look at the cockpit and the structure of the craft and how similar it looks to that of the Tumbler. It could be detached from the Tumbler during an explosion of some kind and might turn into a small plane/Jet.
who knows??

Detached from the Tumbler? What Tumbler? Did we get a look at any black Tumbler? No, so there´s probably no more Batmobile and even if there is one did you see the size of that aircraft? No physical chance of that thing coming out of the Tumbler in my opinion.
In this video they are really going full throttle, love the sound of those V8´s!!!

I agree with all those facts you reminded those haters/complainers about.I'm with you on that. But here I'm talking about sth else.I know the scenes are gonna look entirely different in PP,but the Batwing seemed complete to me at first. Then again, you're right. The only reason why they didn't release an official photo of that is because it's not a complete version. We have to wait...

The biggest problem I have right now is with all the genius fan boys who are already ripping this movie which they no nothing about and on top of that they're ripping Nolan, complaining that there are too many characters, there's too much going on, worrying about security, nitpicking the Bat-Wing/Bat-Plane, ripping Bane's voice...basically complaining about everything.
My question to all you complaining is has Christopher Nolan ever made a bad movie? Do you really think that one of the best directors of our time has created essentially the greatest comic book movie of all time and now is going to ruin it? Do you really think that he doesn't know what's going on and what he's doing? There's a reason Batman has flourished under his direction. The biggest fear in all of this is that by next year at this time Batman will officially be done in the Nolan-era, forever. That's what really sucks.
Just enjoy the ride and stop complaining.

Feel bad for them, they've wasted alot of money with the imax camera and now this happening. i hope they leave money in the budget for things like this. you think they have a backup batwing laying around anywhere?:P

These haters of Nolan's batman are just wrong. I find it difficult for them to even try and argue against TDK, let alone this film. you don't even have to like batman to recognise that TDK was quality. And all this stuff about making batman more like the comics is just bollacks, comics are drawings, films are real. Its far more skillfull to re-invent elements of a comic and translate them into a possible world in which people can relate to. Making a film that looks just like a comic is easy and doesn't work, thats why Batman and Robin was dog shit. And I hope Nolan distances himself from a possble Batman and Superman team up, would be silly. I hope DC don't try and do what Marvel have done, because I have little faith in the Avengers as Thor was average and Captain America was fucking terrible. As for TDKR, I really do think that for the first time ever the third film could ctually be the best in the trilogy.

Of course you'll see CGI innit...it will begin by changing the time of the day from broad daylight to night time...if they can make it, I'm sure that erasing a chassis underneath the BW won't hurt their budget.

The question is what´s the big advantage of filming during the day? It will cost immensely to change it all in post production so why do it, specially with hot summer days? It´s a mistery to me...

...did anyone else notice, 'specially if you pause the footage, that the batman in the cockpit is a dummy?

I don't get it. Why wold Nolan allow the sets to be breached so easily? The scene of the Batwing driving/flying behind the truck doesn't make sense. You can see people walking in the background as well as regular traffic moving along. Also, I'm no special effects expert (and if I'm wrong tell me) but don't they need some type of blue/green screen wrapped around the bottom of that vehcile to make it looking like it was flying? Like I said, I just don't get why.

I can't imagine how awesome these scenes are going to look after post prod...in the movie...and I pray for some new trailer showing some action of this!

I don't like the way this batplane looks. It's more like a hovercraft than a plane. It should not be called the batplane or batwing. And the batman dummy in the hovercraft thing looks fake as hell and dumb. What was wrong with the batwing from the 1990 film? Just change it a little. Dooshbags!
