Batwing confirmed? I think so. Yesterday we saw pictures of a strange looking new vehicle, and today we have video of it in action! subaruwrxfan is back with 1080p HD video of Batman's new ride in The Dark Knight Rises. He got up close and personal, you can really get a good look at it. I've added a few more videos of the Batwing in action, you can even see Batman in the cockpit. Check those out after the break.

All I am seeing is IMAX cameras in Pitt! I really hope there are still 70mm projectors by July. So many are converting to the crappy digital and it just doesn't compare to 70mm.

This thing looks interesting, but not something that seems like it could take off. The way the vehicle is proportioned looks clunkier it should, and hardly looks like a stealth-based plane. Of course the sfx unit could be able to make it work, or it might actually fall under this kind of trope.

Really...How much more stuff is Nolan gonna cram into this flick? I trust in him, but between the ridiculous star-studded cast and all the different vehicles this reeks of Spider-Man 3...just hope the script is far better than that mess and all should be well!

I have it from a very reliable source that this movie is going to run at approx 200 minutes, that's 3 hrs 20 mins :0)

Not calling you a liar but 3 and a 1/2 hrs? That is insane. I know that I would be enthralled for every minute but the average movie goer? Not so sure they would want Nolan making a movie that long, although it DEFINITELY has enough plot going on to fill it

well i hope they have intermission.... lol

I wish that would be the case, I would love every minute of those 3 and a half hours...

I don't think it'll be a mess. I'm not going to use that cheesy line "In Nolan I Trust" but I can honestly say he hasn't made a movie that I haven't liked, very good director. I don't think he would have agreed to go into shooting with a script he didn't think would work well. He's all about themes and tying things together, I think it will be every bit the epic f*cking conclusion we all hope for

It's probaly gonna be a helicopter after some cgi , kinda hovercopter

I like the idea of the Bat-Wing but when it was first mentioned I has thoughts of a hang-glider (as in Year One), I'm just praying that this doesn't mean a leap from the reality based story and tech to a more fantastical approach. Granted Bruce Wayne has access to the most cutting edge tech so all this may be plausible...

Were lookin at the New BATWING! :)0 likes
With the bad photos I thought that it had big guns in front, now I see that they're propellors. This is going to look so awesome, and is that an IMAX camera???? That would be even better :D

Funny you mention that, since I clearly see two 50 caliber machine guns in the front...

Mabye but I think it will be CG because it would be so complicated to make that happen. But you never know :) good to speculate :) it's going to look amazing though I love watching these videos and watching how it moves around the corners!

It's hard to tell but, doesn't batman helmet look different in the video as well? In the previous video's we saw the same looking outfit from dark knight, maybe an upgrade sometime after that...

how should this thing land????????????? if they outtake that vehicle underneath in the movie?

I will admit that I was worried that this was going to be lame but from what I'm reading this is a helicopter more than anything. Which makes it more real, especially for a Nolan movie. Now that I look at it, it really does look like a cool chopper!

If that footage is in the movie, I hope they follow it with a scene of Bruce taking fiying lessons. They better use CGI or somthing. He looked like he almost crashed a few times. It almost reminds me of a flying version of the shagohod from Metal Gear Solid 3. Cool though!

Feel bad for them, they've wasted alot of money with the imax camera and now this happening. i hope they leave money in the budget for things like this. you think they have a backup batwing laying around anywhere?:P

Yeah, what´s up?

Of course you'll see CGI innit...it will begin by changing the time of the day from broad daylight to night time...if they can make it, I'm sure that erasing a chassis underneath the BW won't hurt their budget.

The question is what´s the big advantage of filming during the day? It will cost immensely to change it all in post production so why do it, specially with hot summer days? It´s a mistery to me...

...did anyone else notice, 'specially if you pause the footage, that the batman in the cockpit is a dummy?

I don't get it. Why wold Nolan allow the sets to be breached so easily? The scene of the Batwing driving/flying behind the truck doesn't make sense. You can see people walking in the background as well as regular traffic moving along. Also, I'm no special effects expert (and if I'm wrong tell me) but don't they need some type of blue/green screen wrapped around the bottom of that vehcile to make it looking like it was flying? Like I said, I just don't get why.

I can't imagine how awesome these scenes are going to look after post prod...in the movie...and I pray for some new trailer showing some action of this!

I don't like the way this batplane looks. It's more like a hovercraft than a plane. It should not be called the batplane or batwing. And the batman dummy in the hovercraft thing looks fake as hell and dumb. What was wrong with the batwing from the 1990 film? Just change it a little. Dooshbags!
