Jason Momoa talks playing Lobo and just how much we can expect to see him in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Momoa is on the promotion circuit for Minecraft, and ScreenRant took the opportunity to ask the actor about the transition into playing Lobo. "Well, this is the role I've always wanted to play. That’s the comic I loved, so I'm really nervous about it. It’s kind of a no-brainer to play this character," said Momoa. "It's pretty big. I don't want to give away too much, but I mean, we look pretty dead on, exactly like the character, and he’s pretty rough and gruff and… I'll say the bike’s really cool."
As to we'll be seeing very much of him, Momoa said, "I hope so. I hope so. I hope so. [Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow] is her movie, so it's great. I just come in for a little bit."
Craig Gillespie is directing from a screenplay adaption by Ana Nogueira from Tom King’s 2022 comic series of the same name.
Milly Alcock has been cast as Supergirl, Eve Miller as Ruthye Mary Knolle, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain Krem of the Yellow Hill. Craig Gillespie will be directing.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, just under a year after Superman hits on July 11, 2025.
