Colin Farrell is reportedly in talks to add another DC character to resume as he is in talks to play Sgt. Rock.

According to Deadline, Farrell is in talks for the role that was originally rumored to be going to Daniel Craig. In Feb., it was reported that the former James Bond had dropped out of the project, although he had never signed on officially.

This may not be very clear to some as he is currently playing The Penguin in Matt Reeves' Batman universe, but that is an Elseworlds story, and as the character looks nothing like the actor, it is fair game in the eyes of DC Studios.

Luca Guadagnino is still slated to direct the project, and current reports are saying that the film is due to begin shooting as soon as in the Summer. The problem is, Farrell already has a tremendous number of projects booked for the remainder of this year: Season 2 of Apple TV Plus' Sugar, Edward Berger’s movie The Ballad of a Small Player, and The Batman: Part II is supposed to begin filming before the end of the year.

Sgt. Rock was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert and made his debut in 1959's Our Army at War. He grew in popularity in the 1970s and early 1980s, but has been a bit of a bit character since that time. Guadagnino is reportedly very excited to get this project off the ground.

No word as of yet on a possible release date for the film.
