Andy Serkis knows what the story of The Batman: Part II will be, and he's excited for it.

Speaking with ScreenRant, Serkis shared that he knows the story of The Batman: Part II. "I know there's a huge appetite, and boy, am I as hungry for it as you all are," said the actor. "I talked to Matt recently because I was doing the press thing with him about The Penguin, I interviewed him... He told me the story of The Batman 2, and I'm so excited for it!"

This is a welcome update as the last time Serkis spoke of the film in June of 2024, he said, "Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year," he continued. "Therefore, if you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that."

Serkis added, "I know that Matt [Reeves] is working really hard on the script. "Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing. I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more."

The fact he now knows the plot is a very welcome change.

The Batman hit theaters on March 4, 2022 and went on to earn $765.95 million dollars globally. The franchise received an interim expansion with the release of The Penguin – an original series with Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oz Cobb from the first film – on Max.

The untitled The Batman sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
