It seems that Andy Serkis may finally have a little bit of information about when The Batman: Part II will go into production.

During an appearance at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Serkis did a Q&A session with the crowd where the status of The Batman: Part II was brought up. “Well, there is a huge arc which you’ve got – nah, I’m not giving away anything,” Serkis joked according to The Popverse.

"Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year," he continued. "Therefore, if you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that."

Serkis added, "I know that Matt [Reeves] is working really hard on the script. "Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing. I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more."

The Batman hit theaters on March 4, 2022 and went on to earn $765.95 million dollars globally. The franchise will next expand in September with the release of The Penguin – an original series with Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oz Cobb from the first film – on Max.

The Batman: Part II is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 2, 2026.
