It looks as though Gal Gadot won't be hanging up the Lasso of Truth quite yet.
Speaking with ComicBook.com in support of her new Netflix movie, Heart of Stone, Gadot shared that Wonder Woman 3 may indeed still be happening. "I love portraying Wonder Woman," said Gadot. "It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James [Gunn] and from Peter [Safran] is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together."
Originally, Patty Jenkins was slated to return for a third Wonder Woman film, but those plans were scrapped as DC continued to change its leadership and direction of the films.
Recently, Gadot has had cameos in both Shazam: Fury of the Gods and The Flash, but what her status was beyond those two films has remained unknown. With two films remaining before – Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom – before the DC Universe under Gunn and Safran launches.
What will end up surviving the DCEU still remains to be seen, but the general feeling has been that it won't be much. We know that both Batman and Superman are being recast, with David Corenswet already being named to the part of Kal-El. Perhaps we will end up with a mixed cast of the old and new afterall.
