The Batman is currently in post-production, and while we wait for it to release in 2022, Colin Farrell is giving us some info on just how Oswald Cobblepot we'll see.

Anytime a film has known multiple villains there is a fear that all of them will feel rushed, or spend too much time jockeying for position. In a new interview with Joshua Horowitz, it sounds as though Colin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot will be used fairly judiciously.

"Obviously, COVID began to grip the world while we were shooting and I left London in March and we were stood down for four or five months and then we went back. And then obviously Robert [Pattinson] got sick and that was like, "f****** Batman has COVID. "Batman has COVID."

No, it's just like cracking her on. So, but we finished it after I think they were probably from first turnover to last cut was probably 12 or 14 months the shoot and he's cutting together now. I haven't heard sight nor sound of 'em. I don't know what he's up to. But I know he's deep into it and I'm only in it for five or six scenes so I can't wait to see the film because it won't be won't be ruined by my presence.

Yeah, totally. Like really it's a freebie for me. I'll get a little bit uncomfortable for the f****** nine minutes I have and then the rest of it. I cannot wait to see how he brought this world to life because the setts were extraordinary. The production design extraordinary. And then his use of music and sound will be extraordinary. As you said the cast from you know all them Roberts is always Yeah, extraordinary cast.

With Riddler (Paul Dano), Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz), and more in the film, it'll be interesting to see how much time each of them gets.

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.

    lol, and Jonah Hill wanted $10mil for 5-6 scenes as Penguin.

      I think Jonah Hill was bieng offered the role of riddler.
      And he demanded 5-7 million dollars.

      But the guy has 2 oscar noms so I guess he gets to make such demands.

        I think he was offered Penguin but wanted the Riddler role.

    Can't wait to see his version, he's a great actor and i'm guessing he's going to be set up for future films.

    Also off topic but it won't get reported here as its Flash related. Basically Heroes in Crisis has been fully retconned away, Wally is no longer a killer and he was never the one to kill everyone it was in fact related to the Speed Force and Savitar with Wally playing no part. In less then a year two Flash writers have "redeemed" Wally and retconned HiC into nothingness, i bet Tom King is bitter as hell haha.

        This new Flash writer has been killing it, they get Wally really well and have made him the main Flash again and restoring him to who he was. Only had one arc so far but it was a great one.

        Yep. I loved how Williamson at the end of his Flash run last year managed to get round Wally covering up the crime by making it that Thawne was hypnotically suggesting it to Wally and making him do it, its so bullsh*t but no one cared because it helped make Wally less guilty haha.

        The latest Flash Annual, its actually the final to an ongoing arc so if you haven't read read the past 5 issues you might be lost as to why things are happening. Its been pretty good so far and its nice Wally is getting the respect he deserves.

    Wouldn't it be so great if WB let ZS make the second JL movie leading into the knightmare timeline allowing the flash to reset the timeline in his movie. They can then reboot/reset whatever they want. It's just a perfect setup imo. Each movie after flashpoint could have little tie ins allowing them to explore characters in solo films and setup a new universe. But i'm a lowly fan and wb doesn't give a shit lol

      I really love ZS dc films. But at this point it's better to just let it go.
      WB clearly has moved on from Snyder.
      And it would seem Snyder has moved on too. He has a whole thing going on over at Netflix. With the AotD franchise and the new Rebel Moon film. Which might turn into a franchise of it's own.

      I think it's time for everyone to move on.

        If Snyder told fans he's moved on, I think many would take his word and do so. But despite the fact that he's working for Netflix and all the times he's shit-talked WB, he's clearly still keeping the door open for future endeavors, so fans are kinda stuck in limbo.

        It's a shame. WB is also to blame for this, but I think it probably stems from how ZSJL did. It sat squarely in the "it did 'decent' box" - didn't flop, made a profit, but didn't blow anyone's socks off, which is arguably the worst place to be.
        If it bombed, they'd flaunt how badly it did to Snyder and ferry him out the door as they put the final nail in the "Snyderverse" coffin.

        If it was a massive hit, they'd have to make it public how well it did because, despite whatever their personal feelings are for Zack, their shareholders just wouldn't allow them to keep things quiet. They'd have to brag about it.

        So the movie just sits in limbo without a word from any party.

      If I understand and remember correctly, I think Zack’s original plan was intended to allow for an easy flashpoint event to reboot everything anyway. And imagine, if they would have just let Zack finish his arc, that would have allowed his fans to be happy, and then the reset would allow those who hate him to be happy, too. It all could have been a win-win that pleased every type of fan. There truly is no underestimating how stupidly WB has and continues to screw up DC.

        I think you're right; this wasn't intended to be an ongoing "canonical" DC Universe at all, because I don't think they wanted to launch that while the MCU was still going strong and inevitably be in their shadow. Hence, the whole arc of the original story plan being built around an older Batman who would die at the end, because why would you do that if you were actually trying to build a canon-like DCU? Let the canon version be the reboot and let the next guy figure out how to reconcile "it all starts with Superman" with "what about Wonder Woman?"

          Still wouldn't trust Zack to be involved in any kind of reset because he's demonstrated he has no understanding of the characters at all.

    Colin Farrell is a very underrated actor.
    Sad to see he get much screen time in the film. But I guess they are setting him up for a sequel. So I'm okay with that.

    Its better to reserve the character for a second film instead of prematurely killing him.

    Paul Dano will go mainstream with this movie.
    Mark my words.
    We couldn't have dreamed a better fit for Riddler.

      Paul Dano is a very underrated actor. And a perfect fit for Riddler.

      But my only fear is that he just might spend the whole movie with that wierd tape mask on and the voice changer.
      Because if that happens Dano will not get nearly the recognition he deserves.

        i don't think he is gonna be behind a mask for the whole thing. We still know so little about the story and what exactly Reeves is doing with the character tbh. But we do know that the Riddler is Edward nashton, and we know Edward Nashton is played by Paul Dano. So, I think maybe it won't be leaning so much on "who is behind the mask", rather it will be more about "Who is Edward Nashton and why is he doing what he is doing?".

        So we can only hope for a sequel where he'll have more screen time unmasked, as the Riddler should.

    Ah, too bad he's not in it that much because they really went all out with his makeup. He's practically unrecognizable. But I'm still looking forward to seeing his performance.

    I find this movie very fascinating. While I lament the fact that there will be no Batfleck solo film, this is the next best thing. Making a Batman detective story and showcasing the character taking on a really terrifying take on the Riddler that's modeled after the Zodiac Killer is just a really interesting route to go.

    "Fuking Batman has Covid. You now it's just like fuking hell." 😂

    Every time I see that shot of him it blows me away. His transformation is remarkable. Also love how he actually looks like what you would expect Penguin to look.
