Idris Elba has some fun playing coy about his Suicide Squad role

Idris Elba is just going to toy with our emotions now it seems.

While attending the premiere of Cats, in which he plays Macavity, Elba was asked by Variety who he would be playing in The Suicide Squad. While many roles have been rumored for the celebrated actor, director James Gunn has made it clear we're going to have to wait to find out.

Luckily Elba loves his fans, and was very obliging in letting everyone know who he was playing... kinda.

You would really think Variety could afford better audio equipment...

At least they tried. At some point, we'll find out which character he will be portraying.

Filming has been underway on The Suicide Squad since September, and it will hit theaters on Aug. 6, 2021.

  I hope he's playing Bronze Tiger and not a race bent Vigilante. DC doesn't really flesh out their original black characters in the comics or the movies. However, part of me hopes the twist is that he's Martian Manhunter.
