At long last, we have the first Wonder Woman 1984 trailer!

Wonder Woman 1984 has had quite a journey to release. It was originally scheduled for Dec. 13, 2020, and was then moved up to Nov. 1, 2020. Then it was finally moved back to June 5, 2020. This meant that we've had a longer wait than usual for footage, but, thankfully, it is finally here.

The trailer made its debut during the Wonder Woman 1984 presentation at CCXP in Brazil. Warner Bros. has had a large presence at the show, but the Wonder Woman panel was definitely the main vent for most fans.

The film will see Gal Gadot returning as Wonder Woman, and she will be joined by Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah, and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.

Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on June 5, 2020.

      I'll take it as a Batman trope as in comics, I mean, Batman is always appearing in public places but security cameras and such are always taken down and that's how his "urban legend" is perpetuated, even though we always saw him interacting with civilians and such.
      I think this is going to be the very same case, which for me works as a way to keep what she said in BvS and how she's been always operating in the "shadows" so both movies were right

        Batman is only urban legend in his early years. He literally show up with the league on public after the justice league is formed. Also, but only works at night, not at midday when everyone is out like this trailer seems to suggest.

        well that's why I used the past tense, although after zero hour through War Games he became that again. And anyway, you just have to not scrutinize it or it just falls down. When he was an urban legend it didn't make a lot of sense because of the amount of people who had already seen him/interacted with him, and after the fact there were still characters who didn't think he was real so...
        That's why I think all the pieces of dialogue refereing to Diana not being public mean that she was a "urban legend" and it fits well enough for me

        As you said. It doesn't make any sense there as it doesn't here. Btw, the only instance I recall a character didn't think he was real was in Justice League movie only, though I am not sure.
        Also, it still contradicts what she said about walking away from mankind. Helping in secret is not walking away.

        Well yeah the JL movie is perhaps the most recent example of that, but it also happened in comics. Getting a glimpse of him was like winning the lottery or something like that. The Arkham videogames also toyed with that, with NPCs claiming they didn't know about him being real and being just a myth to scare bad guys.
        I think the line of her walking away was taken too literal by people. I never thought she was just there idly doing nothing, but just that she didn't want to interact more than necessary because of the horrors we are able to perform (no that I blame her for that TBH)

        The way she looks around when she gets out of the car seems to indicate she wants as few eyes on her as possible. Seems like she is obligated to be out in the open, but she's still cautious about it.

        The whole point about putting cameras in a shopping mall is to cover everything except for bathrooms, and she was right in the middle, clearly not a blind spot. If they wanted us to think that, she would ve destroyed the camera before taking out the bad guys.

        No, we see at least two cameras get destroyed. And of course there would be more than one. But the fact that they show her destroying two of them, adds more evidence to the possibility that they’re still trying to follow canon. Not to mention that the guys she’s fighting aren’t wearing any gear or even trying to hide their faces. The only way these chumps would know where the security room is at if they work for Maxwell.

        No one’s backtracking. The amount of people that would matter would be enough to thrust her into the global spotlight and not simply urban legend status. Tens of people seeing someone in red and blue run by real quick on a battlefield or in a mall won’t cover it. If she ends up in live footage on the news, then I could be wrong, but even that could potentially be explained away if it’s just a local station and not some bigger thing.

        It was pretty clearly said in BvS that she abandoned mankind. Not that she just 'helped from the shadows', but that she left mans world entirely. Changing it so that she was still helping from the shadows is without any doubt a retcon, it's one that isn't as blatant as could be, but it is clearly a retcon without a doubt.         I highly doubt a warrior princess in red, blue and yellow armor running around the globe would be chalked down to hearsay. Her look is way too unique for that. This isn't in the middle of nowhere. She's in the damn White House in one of the scenes in the trailer. Why not ignore the cameras?
        Well, because 1) she has an alter ego that she'd wanna keep hidden and cameras kinda ruin that and 2) the camera thing is stupid anyway because destroying the camera does nothing to destroy the footage in the vcr tape in the security room of the mall. So again, the 100 years thing is fucking nonsense and they're ignoring it for good reasons.

        It is hilarious to see him downplay WW by saying she's a lady waearing skirt, a chick wearing blue and red, and so on, to justify how riddiculous the idea that people won't talk about someone can move really vast, using a bright lasso that looks magical, capablenof deflecting bullets, and able to destroy things by throwing her tiara. Loving the 80's feel. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was a trailer for Stranger Things Season 3, at least for the first minute. That all said, I'm not blown away by it. It's a good trailer, but nothing particularly fantastic.

  I thought you said Diana gives up her powers in return for Steve (or something of that sort), but in the trailer we see her deflecting bullets, trying to defend Steve. Seems pretty clear to me she still has her powers even when Steve is brought back.

And BTW, why do people read leaks of movies they want to watch? I will always try to go to a movie as blank as possible, I don't even watch more than one trailer for a movie a really want to watch... (and yes sometimes is painful to resist the temptation)

Can someone please give me a description of Maxwell Lord. I dont know much about him in the movie or comics. Does he have superpowers, is he someone like Lex Luthor, I'd like to know so I can understand him more.

  Originally Maxwell Lord was a federal agent working for the top secret organization Checkmate, known as the Black King. He became very infamous in the mid 2000s when he point blank shot Ted Kord (Blue Beetle) in the head and developed mind control powers which he eventually used on Superman to make him believe he was seeing things that were not real. He made Superman beat Batman into a coma, because Superman believed he was Darkseid. Later Lord made Superman believe that Wonder Woman was Doomsday and had just torn Lois in half so Superman attacked Diana with his full power. Diana had to use all of her power just to stay alive.
  In the end Diana made the controversial choice to break Maxwell Lords neck (almost exactly like Kal did with Zod in MoS) when Lord said that he would never release Superman from his control and insisted that killing him was the only way to free Superman.
  However the killing of Lord greatly divided Diana from Kal and Bruce and they became extremely fractured leading eventually right into Infinite Crisis.

okay visually it looks absolutely fantastic and I fucking loved the music. Very 1984 Depeche Mode-like. I am a huge fan of the synthie pop of that era so that was rad.
Gal is absolutely nailing it as always but what really, really bothers me is that once again this movie breaks their established canon in so many ways.
In Justice League it was made very clear that Diana had hidden from mankind for almost 100 years, Batman even specifically mentioned how he never heard of her before which he found very strange. They also made a point in that movie how Diana had been staying away because she was mourning Steve for so long. In fact she and Bruce nearly came to blows in that one scene because Bruce mentioned Steve as the boyfriend she had been mourning over for the last 90 years. And Diana certainly did not say "actually I met him again in 1984".
yet in this trailer it becomes very obvious that not only is Diana out in the open and very much in the public as WW back in 1984 but Steve has returned as well and thus this heavily contradicts the events of JL. Unless of course they reveal in the end that this is not Steve Trevor at all which I guess would explain why the topic of Steve is still such a trigger for Diana by 2017.
Really underwhelmed by Maxwell Lord and Minerva though. They seem so lame. And not even one glimpse of actual Cheetah in the trailer. Shame.
The winged armor from the comics is cool though. Wonder (see what I did there) what Diana needs it for. Possibly a surprise villain at the end ? She would definitely need no armor to fight Cheetah. Thats more like for alien or god-level threats.

    I don't care if the canon is good or bad. That was NOT the point. I just hate it when a canon is established and then it is just retconned or contradicted when it becomes convient.
    Even though Thor: The Dark World was one of the MCUs least popular films, Avengers Endgame still adhered 100 % to the canon established in it. This is what sets Marvel so much apart. They created a cohesive tapestry and they don't throw it away when it suits them. Star Wars is now doing the same with their current canon. It does not matter how bad it might be. canon is canon and should be always respected as such.

  I believe Jenkins has confirmed that they will retcon/change "her 100 years of abscence" because they didn't agree with it. And I think Gal herself has said something about that, that she couldn't see Diana giving up on mankind for so long. I agree that it is annoying and they should get it right from the beginning so they didn't have to change it but that's the way it will be I guess.

That helmet and wings oO!!! At the first time the armor didn't impressed me, I admit, but now I'm sold! Also, it looks like a lot of fun. Wonder Woman hanging on lightning bolts is a freaking crazy comic book thing that anyone could expects to see in comic book movie!

Looks fantastic, they nailed the 80s feel down to the nice sounding synth pop. WW84 will continue WB's current mini winning streak, things are finally looking up for us!

I think that what I have liked the most is the 80's vibe. With the first one I more or less could guess what could happen in that setting, but here I'm a tad clueless about what the plot would involve and I like that feeling.
The action scenes look on point though!

Fucking hell, so glad to have lived long enough to be as hyped for a new Wonder Woman movie as I am for the next Batman. I really love the whole jump to the 80's angle and I hope future sequels jump around in time too somehow. Like, goddam A W.W. movie in the 60's would probably be my dream movie.. just do time travel lol

The bright colors is a bit too muc but all the fan service is nice and I have a feeling Kristen Wiig is gonna make an excellent Cheetah!
The tiara toss and the flashback sequence featuring the Amazon Contest with a young Diana running with her sister almost caused me to go into cardiac arrest!

Why so many new accounts on this site with negative remarks as soon as a new DC trailer comes out. Stop it, the trailer alone looks better than the entire Captain Marvel movie.
