Here’s Our First Look at Lois & Clark From the Elseworlds Crossover

People were excited when it was announced that Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman would appear yet again in the Arrowverse Elseworlds crossover (in his black suit!). Then, it was revealed that Lois Lane, played by Grimm’s Elizabeth Tulloch, would also make an appearance, meaning we’d finally see the supercouple back on the small screen.

The first photo of them together was revealed on Friday, and it looks like a throwback to the Richard Donner era. Hoechlin’s Superman looks terrific in the image, harkening closely to the iconic New 52 costume fans know and love.

Additionally, the location of the photo, at what looks like Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, recalls Donner’s classic Superman movies. Even the gown worn by Tulloch’s Lois Lane conjures memories of Margot Kidder’s rendition of the character.

According to Hoechlin, Clark’s relationship with Lois will be “very strong” by the time we see them together.

“It’s deeper into the relationship, so there’s that comfortability factor and they know each other so well. They really kind of have a life together,” Hoechlin told TV Insider.

We’ll see the two characters in action when the Elseworlds crossover event begins on Sunday, December 9.

        This is straight up logic, dude. How did pass the seventh grade is mind-boggling. In logic, universal means ALL. If you had said most or some, you would be right. But the fact that BvS doesn’t have a 0% RT says that it’s not universally panned, because if it was, then no critic would’ve gave it a fresh score.
        Yes an actor accepting the rewards totally cares how it’ll affect his career, and is not doing it just for laughs.

        You're a dunce, Schuyler. BvS was widely fucking panned and criticized. Almost everyone thought it was terrible, not just terrible but a joke. The people agreeing with me are not lying, they just are not delusional. You really must have no idea about the general feel for a movie if you really think BvS was divisive. I mean, to be as literal as you, you're right, it was divisive at a ratio of about 95:5.
        You don't need to explain what universal means to me, but it seems someone needs to explain what colloquial means to you. Hell, that word is clearly too advanced for you, so here are some plain old dictionary definitions showing that I am correct:
        1: "embracing a major part or the greatest portion" and "comprehensively broad and versatile" from miriam webster
        and
        2: "An idea that can be applied on an intergalactic scale, although more commonly used to state that a certain ideas apply or are accepted by all humans in general." from urban dictionary.
        I'm sure you will say the urban dictionary definition is not valid or irrelevant. It's not, but to understand why it's valid you would have to work hard on understanding what colloquial means, like we talked about earlier. It doesn't matter, I don't need it, as the first definition from merriam webster is sufficient. I could embarrass you further and link to the Oxford dictionary which gives examples of usage absolutely proving you to be wrong and supporting my point, if you like?
        And finally, you dingbat schiztard, you said actors don't care not that they don't care how it will affect their career; a point proved pretty clearly wrong. But hey, like usual, claim you meant something other than what you said after you've had your ass handed to you yet again.

        For two years BvS was labeled as being a divisive film. It was always referred to as being a film that “Yould would either gonna like it or hate it, no in-between.” I’m not even saying that it wasn’t panned. You’re poor attempt at being a contrarian is obvious and pitiful.

        BvS was widely panned before it was even released, as soon as the embargo was lifted like a day or two before it came out they destroyed it. Then word of mouth was overwhelmingly negative, leading a record breaking drop in the second week box office. From that point on it was downhill, and if there was any doubt as to what a flop it was widely considered to be, that ben affleck interview meme cemented it. You can go and check other disqus discussions and reddit threads from back then, none of them support what you are saying. I know you are a regular on the mary sue, and even over there the vast majority think it is shite.

This whole thread started because you deliberately misinterpreted someones remark as making fun of someone suffering of PTSD instead of the moment showing PTSD.         Now, you're trying to argue that I'm using universal incorrectly, except I'm not. I already provided definitions supporting that. I think you need to go back to school on Monday and ask your teacher in your logic class to explain to you why you're wrong. Because I also went to 'logic class' when I was getting my degrees in computer science. And the thing is, champ, is that words have different meanings in different fields. Shocking, I know.
        Kind of how like, colloquially (oops, there's that word again), theory means what would be called a hypothesis in science, but in science a theory requires facts and evidence and testing to be declared as such. Same with universal. It means all in the domain of predicate logic, colloquially it just means almost everybody. Hell, the example you gave above of The Room already proved my point for me.
        I'm not wrong, but I'm curious to see if you have the balls to admit you are, or if you're gonna keep typing nonsense to try and save face.

        P.S. and it was absolutely a flop. Not because it didn't make as much as it's budget but because it didn't even come close to making what an R rated c tier character movie like Deadpool made. If the movie hadn't sucked as bad as your grasp of language, it would have made a billion easily.

        In the context you was using the word, you used the word incorrectly. If you had simply said “almost universally” you would’ve been right. The definition that you chose does not fit your use of incorrect use of the word. I have a feeling that you simply chose that definition because it said “major” instead of “all” like the other four definitions said.
        Flop would mean that it didn’t even make back its budget. One film making more than it doesn’t automatically mean that it’s a flop.

        There aren't any rules for how promo images are supposed to be handled. It also entirely depends on what idea they are trying to convey to the public. It's clear that they are actively choosing not to play up her journalist side and instead her relationship with Superman. Also, we have no idea what the context behind this photo is.

  Again, she's a great actress, but when they are together I don't feel like they are a "love of our life" couple.

      I don't know about "very good friends" as they don't seem to interact outside of filming that I can tell. But, it's a very common criticism of Man of Steel and BvS, the lack of chemistry they had on screen together.
      People see things different ways, maybe it works for you, but for me and many others it's an issue. You can even google Man of Steel and chemistry to see how common of an issue it was.

    BvS’ changes to the suit were hit and miss for me. Definitely a few improvements - perhaps most notably the swirling Kryptonian text in the S, love that - but also some glaring downgrades from the MoS design; squaring off the “belt” like that completely disrupts the flow of the suit and looks awkward. The former oval shape and smooth lines fit with the organic and simplistic look of the suit so well. And spacing out, squaring off, and blue-ing to the point of no longer being visible the ribbing and wrist cuff sections I also think detracts from the design and the flow. Still pretty good overall though.

    See, the great thing about the DCEU suit is that it truly is the ONLY Superman suit I've seen that made subtle changes to the suit instead of overhauling it completely.
    For real. Other than the lack of the red trunks, it's pretty much the classic Superman suit everyone recognizes. Cape attachment is the same, falling behind the shoulders with a low neckline. S shield is positioned above the chest. Red Cape, red boots, blue suit, yellow belt...

    Change the belt, give him armor, change the cape, attach the S shield to his cape, make it 3D, change the boots, change the texture, give him gold plating, etc.

  I think with Wolverine it is to conceal his identity to protect his fellow X-Men? Obviously, it's really just for show but I think what I said could be a possible explanation. But yeah, Superman should just wear cloth (even if it looks alien like Cavil's, I'm fine, but it did look a little too sleek for me personally). My fav. yet of Superman is this one. Just perfect.

  If you want to introduce reason into it, you'll end up revising most of their suits. First of, not only do heroes not need capes, they are detrimental in a fight. Only Batman can argue utility as he uses his to glide. But Sups sure as hell does not need it. So why wear it? Because it looks good. Same for the armor.
  But if I were to try to justify it within his story, I'd argue that his father did not know how the Earths atmosphere would affect his body and naturally wanted to make something that would offer some degree of protection.

    Ok, I'll give you that one. What about all the other heroes wearing capes? For inspiration too? What about the fact Sups and WW don't wear masks, even tho they have secret identities? What about the fact that almost the entire Bat-family wears masks that should not foll even a child? And how about Spider-man? How does he even see anything through that white whatever it is on his eyes? How can he stick to the walls if his hands and feet are covered by sturdy cloth?
    All that is to say that super-hero costumes don't make much sense. It's only a matter of how much of it you are willing to accept and where you start to draw the line. Do you want to see Sups wear a mask?

        The entire "damsel in distress" is trite and overplayed, and there's no space for it in modern society. Her getting in trouble every other scene was so contrived and disruptive to the narrative. Supes and the spear was dumb and forced just like the entire plot line. As for the chemistry, I just don't know how to explain to you the lack of it. Yes, they were a couple but they didn't feel like one. There was no chemistry between lovers, just a couple of actors... acting (poorly).

        I agree. That trope is overplayed but the difference is here, Lois lane also does the saving. She saves superman as well. I'm pretty sure there is space for that in modern society. How is her getting into trouble Contrived or disruptive when it's an integral part of the narrative and plot. Every time sht got in trouble it served the plot and made sense and it set the stage for what's to come. How was the whole supes and the spear thing dumb or forced? Considering he was the only one who heard and the other two heroes were busy fighting the monster. It was the smart move and made perfect sense. How was the entire plot dumb or forced? That claim Makes no sense. If you can't explain it, how can you say they had no chemistry? You thought their acting was poor? That's an over exaggeration. The way they react and talk to each shows how comfortable they are with each and how close they are with each other. While yes there is tension between them but that's part of the story.

        Chemistry is essentially like gravity. You can't see, smell, or hear it, but you know it's there. You can feel its pull. When two people gravitate towards one another romantically, it is usually very palpable. The same is also true when there's no romantic interest. Just because they kissed and read some lines doesn't mean they sold us on their coupling, which they didn't.
        The spear thing was poorly constructed since just as easily Lois could've just not be there and Wonder Woman could've taken the spear while Supes kept Ninja Turtle distracted. But Snyder really wanted to kill Superman and revive him in JL, so we ended up getting that shitshow instead

        Had lois lane not been there, they wouldn't have gotten the spear. And if wonder woman was the one with the spear, then she would have been the one to die. So you would have had wonder woman die instead of superman, and it's doubtful that she could have been ressurected. Also add to that had superman not died, his character arc and batmans character arcs would be unfinished. The story would be incomplete. So saying it's poorly constructed makes no sense. Since the its been set up from the beginning and serves the themes of the movie. Also jl wasn't Snyders movie. It was wbs and joss whedons movie.

        No, I think I've made it perfectly clear that I have taken everything into account i.e. their story, their acting, their lines and so forth. From my perspective, it was a huge fail. And I think my gravity analogy was spot on. But if you really want to delve into it, chemistry is a form of sexual energy connecting two people or more. Superman seemed like he'd rather be kissing a Louis over Lois.
        Wonder Woman could've stabbed Ninja Turtle and Superman could've still be killed rather than her. You need to work your imagination. If you're the director, you can go about this scene in verbatim infinite ways. But since you lack the imagination, you can't possibly grasp that there could be other ways to build this scene, better ways.
        The whole purpose of that scene, btw, was to make Supes likeable, but since it was so badly executed, and since Superman allowed a tornado to take his father, destroyed his city in his battle with Zod, and scowled for the better part of two movies while contemplating why he should even give a fuck about people, it failed miserably.

You barely delved in to the stories, only minor aspects of it and you never mentioned the lines. And if that's your perspective that it failed m, that's fine but you haven't given much for people to see how you can to such a perspective. It comes across as lacking. The gravity analogy is a good analogy but it's entirely accurate. A better analogy and more accurate one would be a chemical reaction between compounds. OK wait from where did the gay sexual energy come from now? Are they siblings or is he a gay ? Because at this point, these claims are all over the place.
        It's not about imagination. It's about laing the whole scenario make sense. What you seem to be proposing dumps imagination in the garbage and just goes for full on bullshit mental gymnastics, which seems to be your Forte. The director can do it in a number of ways but most of them aren't going to make sense or be logical. Certain scenarios will make sense and be logical but not all of them. But saying wonder woman can kill doomsday and doomsday can also kill superman at the same time is ridiculous as to why would doomsday kill superman and not wonder woman which is the more direct threat to him. She'd be dead long before doomsday can kill superman.
        You completely misunderstand the whole pint of the scene. It was never meant to make him likeable. It was meant to fi ish his character arc and batmans character arc Co. Clouding their story and making the world realize they were wrong about superman. Had nothing to do with making him likeable cause he was likeable since Mos. Superman didn't allow anything. His father told him to stay back and he wanted to save him but he chose to trust and listen to his father cause he knew his father was right and lo and behold his father was right. You seem to conveniently forget about the existence of the world engine which if you paid attention was the one that destroyed the city. And if bothered to again pay attention, you'd see that the zod cause most of the damage in their fights. And if you think he scowled for most of the film, then you paid zero attention to this film and no. Clearly, we're in disagreement over the chemistry thing (and obviously you take my words way too literal when all I'm trying is to get a certain point across). I'm not going to go over their scene word for word for you, because I'm really not that bored and because you won't get it anyway.
        Secondly, could DD have killed Superman and then Wonder Woman could kill him while he was distracted? I think, yes! That's just one example from the top of my head. Having him picking up the spear that was weakening him no doubt had made Zack proud of himself, but it was stupid for many other people. And yes, the sole purpose of that scene was to extort sympathy for Superman from the viewer. That's all it was. You're failing to understand that is a bigger issue than I'm willing to tackle.

        Chose and allowed are synonymous in this case. He made a conscious decision to let his father die. End of story. You're failing to understand the context of this scene in The entire story and character arcs.

He reluctantly chose to agree with his father and stay back. But superman would always listen to PA Kent. That's the superman from the comics. He listens to PA Kent even though he might agree with him. And the fact that you ignore his thought process is part of the problem. It Contributes to a narrow and skewed perspective which is the furthest thing from a fair assessment. And wrong Henry cavill never said he hated Zack. Snyders superman. Claiming it's poor characterization is over exaggeration and hyperbolic.

      This probably sounds like conspiracy theory, but I bet WB asked for the suit to look crappier so it doesn't outshine the movie's costume (which is pretty hard cause that looks awesome), but that's the only explanation I can find. The Supergirl suit looks perfect if you ask me. I doubt they couldn't have done the Superman suit as good.

        Could easily be a reason. The fact they are so apprehensive towards some characters, how they don;t want them to be in multiple mediums at the same time and stuff like that, it wouldn't surprise me if they asked for a suit to be pretty simple. But I gotta say, other than the buckles and the cape not being right on the neck line, I quite like it
