Yesterday, a 5-minute Aquaman trailer was released that gave us an extended look at director James Wan's upcoming underwater adventure movie. It even showed off Jason Momoa in the iconic costume from the comics for the first time.

Batman and Superman don't wear Spandex, at all, nor does WW wear a swimsuit of any kind. Maybe in the 60's...nope, not even then.
And Mera's costume doesn't look like neoprene at all. Show me a wetsuit for sale that looks like that, please. Or is this another nonsense claim you will never be able to back up?

I have yet to see the women wear anything that doesn’t look ridiculous. The men all get cool Atlantean armor and interesting stuff like that that I can sort of buy, but the Queen of all people is wearing cheap looking Elsa cosplay or something...
Infinitely better costume design than picking up a trashy swimsuit from Walmart like Wan did. To think any person could possibly not see that baffles my mind.
Well, your mind is a little different from most, lets say....special..., so maybe the problem is with your perception rather than a new costume choice which is overwhelmingly well received.

It sounded like he wanted to do a fairly short tight Raid esque pure action film. I was hoping for something that would also explore his family drama and Slade as a character. But again, it doesnt mean the project is dead. They could always find someone else

Im so happy for DC/WB, but most of all, happy for us. It may only a 5 min trailer but there's no question in my mind that Wan made something special.
Watchmen Directors Cut is sacred to me. However, this film takes me back to 80s adventure films like Willow, Raiders, Goonies and Romancing the Stone. It cant help but being great. It has everything going for it especially when they have someone as dedicated to this film as Wan has been. Im saying it now, this will be THE hit of Dec.
Trailers can be misleading. Remember the trailer for MoS? It had everyone hyped but the movie was polarizing.
Early screenings had people comparing this to Thor 2. So we will see.
MoS was a remarkable, well made movie. Loved it. Except for last 15 mins when it derailed.
You liked it, and that's great. I'm saying it was polarizing though, many people disagreed with you. However, almost all people liked the trailer.
that was like one person saying he heard it from someone else. not exactly much to go on. Others were saying it was good. I wouldnt pay much mind to early screening reactions personally.

I don't know if I want it to tank so it's more likely we get a full reboot or do well.
i clearly did not see these people you speak of. I saw one guy say "I heard it was being compared to Thor The Dark World" and that was it. Define "a lot of people". And again does that negate all of the positive reactions? And that includes the first alleged test screen where from what I remember there was no one comparing it to Thor 2. Don't put too much stock into this. All we can is hope for the best.
I saw a few different reactions from different screenings on different websites, and I am assuming each screening had around 30 people. Not aware of a lot of positive reactions. From what I've read the majority reaction is 'meh', but we are both dealing with incomplete data and second hand accounts so only time will tell.

No, other peoples reviews and opinions don't affect my itnerest whatsoever.
I'm already less invested because it's DCEU and I really, really hate the foundation Snyder built. I was less invested because I'm not a fan of 'Aquabro' guzzling alcohol and talking like a surfer thug. I was less invested because while Wan is good at horror, Furious 7 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen and I felt like I was watching an SNL sketch at times.
However, I think the trailers have all looked good. Not super duper amazing, but good, so my interest lifted from what it was and the reviews have not changed that at all.
never understood why some people didn't dig Aquabro. Its awesome lol. He's like a surfer bro...because he is Aquaman! Its great! lol. Also idk anything about the FF franchise but i do know FF7 made a fuck ton of money and got good reviews so...I mean I guess its all subjective really. I find it hard to believe people were "that" influenced by the Paul walker situation. And being good at one genre does not negate the ability to succeed in another. This happens all the time
Because e just seemed so lame to me. Not against a surfer take on the character but he came across like a douche who thinks he would never lose in a bar fight, ends up in hospital, and still thinks he won. That guzzling a bottle of jack scene was cheesy as hell.
FF& making so much money honestly just confused me. I'm not against the franchise and loved FF5, but FF7 was just so freaking ridiculous. I swear it was like a SNL parody. Wan literally made them into superhumans.

Solo? Solo was fun?? How? Where? When did this happen? Did you watch that film? No competition? Bumblebee looks really really good and so does Mortal Engines. And word is Deadpool (a sneaky snake move by Marvel) may have 30 mins of new content. Plenty of competition.
Not worried, this looks to be the winner of Dec. Im awed by what the last trailer showed us. There is just too much stigma attached to DC for people to see any differently, even if something this nice was just shown.

Whats there to say about Solo. Its was a blah movie where it held your hand and paced you through the plot making sure you knew exactly what was going to happen before it even happened. That Kessel run sequence e was worst in SW film history. And poor Star Wars films are now relying on a Marvel style end credits scene by adding in nostalgic characters (Darth Maul) for no apparent reason other than fanfare.
Well ya, the last jedi ruined an entire franchise spanning 40 years.

This movie is definitely a game changer. That's one thing I definitely love about the DCEU, for better or for worse, they don't play it safe. This one will be an instant classic. Can't wait!!

Easily one of the best DC trailers I've seen. Aquaman and Spider-Verse can't come sooner enough!
I'm excited for DDS3, Arrow (I haven't watched since Season 2 but the trailer for season 7 shows some good fights) and Titans, even if now it's just to shit on it since they made Batman a killer.
October looks like a fun month. Supernatural is back as well.
As for Aquaman? We shall see.

Starfire looks ridiculous, but I can still suspend disbelief enough to enjoy the show with her. Other stuff was minor nitpicks like Beast Boy having to be naked or not having green skin.
I have no problem with the CGI and like most of the costumes.
I still plan to torrent it the day it comes out, just not as excited for it now.
It's going to be a good Winter for superhero movies.
LOOK AT THOSE UNDERWATER BATTLE SCENES. And those sea monsters. And that ancient Atlantean tech. And the magma. And lifting the submarine. There’s a lot of explosively gorgeous imagery in this movie I’m looking forward to.
But there’s also some definitely questionable stuff, too...
I’m still on the edge about Aquaman’s classic armor. Please just give him the shoulder/chest armor that the old king wore. Then I can probably accept that costume. They’re so close to looking passable. And hopefully the pants are really dark. Bonus points if they carry over the tattoo pattern onto the legs like with his BvS outfit.

Costumes don't have to be dull to be realistic. How many times does this have to be explained to you?

They don't look ridiculous. Just about everyone is praising them other than a select few people in the "Ack! Bright colors!" crowd. The hype for this trailer is through the roof.

The costume is just a tad garish, and they need something to round the top off, to balance out the huge gauntlets and boots. Golden shoulder/chest plates like that would really accent the rest of the mail nicely while staying true to the comics color scheme.
I’m close to accepting the armor. That’s really good, considering I was SO against it. And I’m glad it at least seems to look better than that one pic of the statue of Momoa in a classic Aquaman suit that was floating around the internet all that time ago.

Please look at every shot of the old king in the trailer, from the hologram to flashbacks. He’s got it on and it goes great with the rest of the outfit. Not to mention it breaks up some of that endless field of scaled texture, which is a little easier on the eyes, too, and one could argue is in itself “overdesigned” looking. AND it would match with the plates he’s got just under his belt, which look nice, but are just kinda sitting there not tying into anything.

Anything garish and unlike what would really be worn is ridiculous. And that includes rainbow military uniforms LOL. But That can come in the form of color or design or whatever. In this case, this costume is simply on the edge; I’m not saying it’s ridiculous yet. It might work well, but I’m not 100% sold quite yet.

This is your problem bucko. You have a very ignorant idea of what is realistic, specifically because you think anything not dull and faded is 'garish', when in reality it's just....not dull. It may be ridiculous in your opinion, but it certainly isn't ridiculous since all throughout human history different cultures have had their militaries and royalty wear bright colors.
You should really educate yourself on what the royalty from different cultures have worn in the past. We have real world examples of clothing that is FAR more garish and ridiculous than what Aquabro is wearing here.

That's just military. Royalty throughout history has been even more 'unrealistic'.
Please actually read my comment and address the criticisms I actually made, not the ones you’re continuing to perpetuate that you largely made up, since the colors are far from the only issue despite your seeming to think that’s all I’m talking about.
As for your pretty pictures, the first is pretty darn muted, the second is in fact hideous and impractical as heck, the third is just one simple pop of color, and the final is ornamental to be sure but not ugly. But what’s really important to note is that more elaborate uniforms used for ceremonial purposes and such is one thing, but in the field especially in the modern day, anything beyond what is strictly utilitarian is questionable, so superhero costumes have a careful balancing act to play and the trick is finding the happy medium between what works in real life and the artistic flare of the comics.
