Taylor Swift supports Ruby Rose as Batwoman amid backlash

Earlier this month, Ruby Rose was cast as Batwoman for the upcoming Arrowverse DC crossover that's coming to The CW. She will also star in her own Batwoman TV series, which is currently in development. But earlier in the week, Rose deleted her Twitter account after being trolled by fans over the casting choice. Taylor Swift is one of Rose's best friends, and a few days ago the pop star showed her support for her friend on an Instagram Story.

"Yes, Ruby Rose!!," Swift captioned an Instagram Story of a photo of a Variety article announcing Rose as Batwoman. "So excited for you, you're gonna be amazing!"

    That's who was harassing her Ed. Since she identifies as gender fluid and no longer as strictly lesbian they thought she didn't adequately qualify now to play a lesbian. Many SJWs now believe you have to accurately represent whatever group identity is part of the character, with little wiggle room. Ruby Rose's own comments on her taking a break from Twitter were that before in her career people gave her a hard time for being too gay and now she's being told she's not gay enough for a role. She seemed baffled by it all, just as any reasonable person should be.

And on the positive side, Batwoman has officially become a mainstream character. The adaptations are where characters truly get to make an impact, and gain a strong fan base. Casting a pretty famous movie actress, was a home run. Even the stupid Twitter backlash, kinda helps from a publicity standpoint. Hopefully the costume looks decent.

    Don't ignore context brat. She has a big strong fanbase, she never got booted of the Detective Comics, what happened was the writer left so the series like any series when a writer leaves was reset to normal for the next writer to do what he or she wants. As for her own series well the series sucks and people stopped reading it, it started off well but the quality dropped so people gave up with it, nothing to do with Kate at all.

        i like Batman best when is alone too but saying that Robin adds nothing shows that you may in fact, as Hunter Zolomon said, not read comics. Ill just tell you. Robin is there to act as a foil to Batman's darkness. Im not the biggest fan of the execution of this concept myself, but to say there is no purpose for these characters is wrong

Her costume looks stupid and I have no idea why she looks like a vampire with her complexion. She’s a shitty character. Her “strong” fan base probably consists of 50 people. If I wanted to read about a female vigilante, I’d read batgirl. I’m not trying to be a dick, I was just giving my thoughts on the character. Regarding the show you know it’s gonna have trash writing and forced SJW shit.

        i forgot to add that in. i don't give two shits if she's a lesbian. and i read Tynion's run on detective, which she's featured in. and i fucking hated her. she's arrogant and annoying especially during the story where she killed Clayface. i love how you just assume i hate her because she's a woman and a lesbian. Ignoring the fact that she's a very unpopular character that has a terrible personality. You and Royal Ruler are the first people i've come across that actually like batwoman.

      Those are excuses, if she was really popular the new writer would have kept her on. Same thing with her series. The Nightwing series is terrible, but it's still going. And i appreciate you being civil, but i have every right to comment that i hate the character on a related article. If it really bothers you then you should just learn to ignore said comment.

        No, I believe DC want to have one arc for the outsiders and after that nightwing will join Batman in tec and later on they probably want Batman to work alone in that comic.
        Popularity don't mean shit anyway. Comic books got cancel all the time to start over again from issue 1 to get the sales boost
        You want to express your hatred in one article okay but on every article about the character by spamming the "shitty" word now that's man child behaviour.
        Try reading her elegy or new 52 run, you know the comic outside of Tyrion's detective run

      I think part of the problem is it's gotten easier and easier for people to put out music, I wouldn't say the're more trash rappers now than any other time, buuut there's just more being heard lately.
      That and most people don't typically remember bad rappers (or bad musicians of other genres) once they're not putting out music.
