'Aquaman' collectibles give best look yet at Black Manta and Jason Momoa's classic costume

Last week DC Collectibles' Aquaman line leaked online and gave us a great look at Aquaman and Black Manta. But now with San Diego Comic-Con just a day away, statues and figures from the movie are being officially revealed.

Hot Toys and Iron Studios both have their Aquaman figures on display at SDCC, and they give us our best look yet at Black Manta's full costume and the classic comic book costume that Jason Momoa's Aquaman will wear in the movie. Check out some photos below courtesy of Collider and Sideshow Collectibles.

oh my, Black Manta looks perfect! Perfect blending of classic and functionality. I'll wait for the movie for a final judgement on Momoa's suit, but it sure looks good here.

Manta looks perfect and i can't wait to see him in action, as for Arthur well i'm loving his look as well. Wan clearly gets the look of this world and this could very well make him bigger then he already is.

    First picture, you see him from waist down. And it is from Begins. Main way to tell is that it doesn't have all the separated plates that the suit has from The Dark Knight onwards.

  This almost makes that orange and green look good. I’m hoping the greens look murkier than that super bright look there during the actual movie, the pants stay nice and dark, and the torso is much more pale gold rather than a shade of orange. Then I could quite possibly be on board.

    I think we'll probably be fine for Arthur's colors, if that sneak peek the other day was any indication. We'll be seeing the trailer very shortly to make certain. :)
    I'm more worried about Orm's costume at the moment.
    Something I'm hoping for is that Atlantis will be a colorful culture, themed around all of the radiant undersea life and coral, so that will explain/justify them having such vibrant clothes.
    Seems like a given, but applying a little extra attention to that kind of detail can make something seem much more believable and natural for the viewer.
    These figs definitely lean on the yellow/gold side of orange (with actual gold armory accents), which I think you were saying you'd prefer a few weeks back.

      Yeah, I might be able to swallow the bright colors much easier if there’s a lot of coral-y themes and things, like you say. That’s actually a good idea. I wonder if there would be any way to still tie that naturally into what we saw in JL, though, which looked more like seaweed and stone, thematically and tonally, than coral.
      But yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing about Ocean Master. He is looking very much like an action figure, even in that live action pic. Hopefully it’s just the picture, though...

        I loved the 'seaweed and stone' look. The dreamy dim blue glow about the area was nice.
        If I had to guess, I would say the place they were keeping the Mother Box was an ancient ruin away from the rest of Atlantis (which would be wise), and that the kingdom beyond was more alive and diverse visually.
        We do get a little wisp of pink/red coral near the dead guard Arthur discovers, and the coloring of that scene actually was pretty much just like the poster we got the other day (which I thought was great).

    It's because of his choices that the movies that come after him are radically shifting in tone, visually and otherwise.
    It's because of him we are having a soft reboot of many characters.
    It's because of him we don't already have a nice organic DC universe bur the broken trash we have now that no one knows how it will turn out.

    I liked Zack Snyder's stuff, but strategically it wasn't working across the board like they had to. Neither was the last minute changes they made to some of their movies. I loved MOS but if you get a 55% return on RT then you should look at what didn't work and change it up, not double down on the least popular parts like the common complaints of being dark (for a bulk of the audiences and critics). You know,even though things were rough for a while I think DC fans like myself will enjoy what they are rolling out with now and appreciate it more, having already seen our favourite characters being so poorly received. I think we are getting less studio interference and last minute mash-ups behind the camera. Once they get hurt them in their wallets, that's when they listen...

Great Aquaman costumes. Getting some real Wonder Woman quality vibes from everything we're getting on this movie. Gotta say it's better than what he wore in Justice League. I love the more comic-faithful iterations. Don't mess with something if you don't have to. I wanted DC to move more into a different look, one that favours lighter colours without being cheesy. Post JL I think we'll see that DC Films can provide smart, meaningful innovative and entertaining films without going dark or cheese. Fingers crossed they give Superman a similar type of suit, one that's more classic but still modern, like what he has going on in the recent Bendis written Superman, drawn by Ivan Reis. Figure out the red trunks!

I think he's wearing leather pants underwater cuz they look Dope if you happen to be Jason Momoa...plus he has super strenght and can withstand crushing pressures of the ocean depths... so I don't think they'd bother him?
