'Aquaman' director shares sneak peek at this week's first trailer

San Diego Comic-Con kicks off later this week, and Aquaman director James Wan is still hard at work on the first trailer that's confirmed to debut at the event.

"Working overtime to put the finishing touches for this coming week!!," Wan said on Twitter, using the hashtag #SDCC2018. He shared a photo from the editing suite of what appears to be a king and a giant whale.

Wan has explained in the past that the reason why the Aquaman trailer is coming so late, when compared to other DC movie trailers, is because he wants the CGI to be as perfect as possible. It takes a lot of special effects to create an underwater world, and those things take time.

The first trailers for Aquaman and Shazam will premiere at the Warner Bros. Hall H presentation on Saturday, July 21st at San Diego Comic-Con. We're also supposed to be getting a sneak peek at Wonder Woman 1984 from Gal Gadot. Who knows what other surprises Warner Bros. will have in store as well!

As always, Batman News will have the best coverage of everything DC from San Diego Comic-Con.

    I lost my mind at this part of the Begins trailer, dude.
    Still one of my favorite trailers ever. I'll never forget that atmosphere. Big moment in Batman history, and meant a lot to me personally at the time.

The color, the atmosphere, the epic, grand, legendary, larger than life feeling... YES. I haven't been able to convince myself that this trailer is actually about to drop, but this just made it real for me.

    The mcu is so successful that you guys think that ant man was going to pull in big numbers, it didnt even open in every territory yet and it have a lot of competition. If it makes 500m+ on a 160m budget , that seems pretty decent to me.

        I'm more of a DC guy. I haven't seen Ant-Man yet. I hope to enjoy it. If I don't? It's as simple as saying "oh well". Chances are it won't be anything dramatic like a dumpster fire, though. ;p I'm not going to micro-analyze it's profits obsessively so I can argue with people online about how bad it was.

  I like it minus Katana( she’s useless). But I love that Lady Shiva might be introduced to the big screen if the rumor is true. One of the best Female character in the DC pantheon.

        She is a badass with a sword. How is that useless? Im not following you. Also the suicide squad is supposed to be made up of under qualified people. That's the humor of it. But in regards to katana, that wasn't really a problem with the character so much as it was a problem with the movie itself not giving her anything to do.
