Earlier this week, the first Aquaman trailer was previewed at a conference called CineEurope in Barcelona, Spain. Variety reported that the trailer would be released "in the next few days", but we'll have to wait a bit longer. Aquaman director James Wan just took to Twitter to confirm that the trailer will debut at San Diego Comic-Con next month.

"Comic-Con will be insane!!," Wan said in a tweet revealing the news. "This is the new glyph/logo. Freshly smuggled out of Atlantis! (stolen off King Orm’s belt buckle)"

San Diego Comic-Con kicks off on Thursday, July 19th, but if history is any indication, the Aquaman trailer probably won't premiere until the Warner Bros. panel in Hall H on Saturday, July 21st.

      Some details:
      1.- When Atlantis sank in the Ocean, it was divided into seven kingdoms, the statues represent the 7 original kings.
      2.- Huge white sharks as part of the Atlantean army.
      3.- King Nereus of the Kingdom of Xebel and his men riding Sea Horses. James Wan wanted to give a rough turn to the comic image of Aquaman riding a Sea Horse.
      4.- We can observe the half brother of Aquaman, Orm, mounted on a type of crocodile or an animal similar to the "Tylosaurus", we also see Vulko (Willem Dafoe) riding a Black Hammerhead Shark.

      It looks spectacular, hopefully the film is as epic as that image.

      It is a 2-hour adventure movie, enjoy it (or not). It is useless to obsess over "franchises" and 10+ future movies all the time.

    I already said it, Wan would make us wait until Comic-Com to launch the trailer, now we just have to wait.
    The hype that would elevate if we saw in the trailer, to AquaMomoa riding sharks or seahorses...

    Thanks to the DCEU we got not only lots of new movie and casting experts, but logo design experts too. BVS really changed the world. Back then no one gave a single fuck.

        In my opinion it does look lame that the DC logo is right on the Aquaman logo. It would look better if the DC logo is above. It feels like the DC logo and Aquaman letters are one layer and the other layer is the Aquaman logo. Then they put the layers over each other.

      The director said they wanted to make sure they were far enough along that the CGI in the trailer looked good before they did a first trailer. Which is smart. After everything that's happened, Aquaman cannot afford to have a shitty first look that turns people off.

        If you actually promise eye candy and it doesn't end up being the case then people will be extra harsh. I would have released it sooner and say it's work in progress, at least then you can still damage control.

        In Wan we trust.

          It's not that I disagree, but the problem is since BVS, WB's entire marketing strategy has consisted of damage control. At a certain point "We promise it'll be better next time guys, seriously!" loses any credibility, and I feel like DC passed it a while ago.

        With only 5 months remaining after the trailer hits, there is no way they wont include a long scene to go with that trailer. The exclusivity of SDCC will ensure we dont see that scene. Pisses me off.

    Why would they switch out the cool, murky, aquatic aesthetic for this - what? - disco ball theme? This seems so random... Seems about as out of place as Atlanna’s costume...

    For those who were hoping that AT&T would clean house at Warner Bros., right now it appears that's not the case. Tsujihara is staying put and Stankey has said (covering all 3 divisions, not just WB) "I won’t be offering my views on what content we should be producing next
    year. I have tremendous respect for the world-class creative talent we
    have throughout the company. My job is to help you continue doing what
    you do better than anyone, which is why my focus will be on business
    strategy, distribution, technology/platforms and capital allocation."

    re the logo, My hunch is that the DC logo is just for this promo card and won't be positioned that way on posters, etc.

      That's an indicator that AT&T does not care about the content, only its volume and distribution. Or else WB happened to be very good at dick sucktion.
