We had heard that Margot Robbie's "Harley Quinn girl gang movie" based on Birds of Prey would begin shooting later this year or early next year, and it sounds like early next year it is.
According to Heroic Hollywood, Birds of Prey is aiming to start production in January of 2019. After the hire of director Cathy Yan last month, the hope is to hire an all-female crew to work on the movie as well. Margot Robbie is producing the movie in addition to starring as Harley Quinn.
Birds of Prey is taking Suicide Squad 2's spot, which was supposed to film later this year. Instead, it is now expected to start shooting shortly after Birds of Prey wraps up next year.
