New 'Deadpool 2' clip features a 'Batman v Superman' Martha joke (video)

The Deadpool 2 trailers have already made multiple DC jokes, and sounds like the actual movie will be full of even more. Good Morning America debuted a brand new clip from Deadpool 2 on Monday morning, and it features a Batman v Superman Martha joke.

"Sorry I'm late... I was fighting a caped badass and then we discovered that his mom's name is Martha, too." Deadpool says. Check out the clip above.

Deadpool 2 has previously poked fun at Henry Cavill's Superman mustache CGI in Justice League and the "dark" DC Extended Universe.

    I think he's just saying that with these established characters there are guidelines you have to follow, and the stakes are high. The people behind the wheel should take that into account and not treat it as just their movie with their characters. If you're making content with these characters that's kind of the cost.
    That and pointing out that both Batman and Superman's Mom have the same name isn't really new.

  I never saw this! Wow, how exciting! So I guess this means the new season is gonna be focusing on Nightwing, after he has left the team, and is apparently leading the Outsiders now. Interesting... Not sure how necessary that is, since in this show the team basically already functioned pretty similarly to the Outsiders, and I hope we still get to see plenty of the main team as well, but I trust wherever these brilliant writers choose to take this brilliant show and look forward to finding out what happens!!

    I understand for sure, I can only imagine the work it requires to run a website like this. But the quality of the content and the content itself has suffered a shift and it's just a bit wonky lately. A lot of "meh" DCEU stuff, rumors, gossip... just a thought from a long time user. I still visit everyday out of routine but the content is just not there for me. The love/hate relationship I have with this community is what keeps me here for sure. I just wish I could talk to them about other things where maybe I can find common ground, especially with people I disagree with on other stuff.

      That's fair, and really, I understand.
      But sometimes the content seems weird.
      I mean, even if it's mostly DCEU, there's a lot of material out there. Cavill recently commented about his mustache removal and he also said it was dumb to keep him off the marketing of JL.
      In the Doom patrol synopsis it says Cyborg gives them their mission, that could've been an article about speculation on it's own, Tom Cruise recently made comments about the DCEU, McJay denied the rumor of Effron being Nightwing...
      I dunno... again, my two cents. And I wanna say this again, it's not a complaint, just what I think is constructive criticism :P

  Also, if I'm correct, the main theory for this scene is that Bruce understands that Superman is more human than he thought cause he has a mom, and therefore treats him as one.
  And my issue with that is that before that moment, during the fight while Bruce drags Superman, he tells him "I bet your parents taught you..." assuming he has parents, so why all of a sudden is he surprised when Superman mentions his mom?

I hate that Bruce is willing to kill supes by any means necessary because he could turn bad, but all that goes out the window when he finds out about martha.... If he had done detective work and used his brain, maybe he would've known sooner. Im sorry, but Ben Affleck batmsn in BVS was pretty dumb with no detective skills at all.

StarTheory said that the idea behind it wasn't bad, so what I don't understand is why so many people act like it WAS completely stupid "just" because the execution wasn't good. As if the poor execution somehow completely changed the concept. Which is what confuses me. There is a difference just thinking something is bad, and thinking "well I get what they were trying to do, but it could have been done a lot better".

      How can that be true, when most people who didn't like the scene usually say "it was a good idea, but the execution was horrible" or something along those lines.
      I don't think anyone believes a redemption ark, pushing Bruce to the limit and making him realize what he's become in pursuit of vengeful justice, is a bad idea. Just the way Snyder handled it is so poor.

I'm really open to hearing your pov here and I'm not looking for a fight. I just wanna state my opinion and see what you think. Not attacking you.
I think most of us are in between those two points of view. At least I definitely understand and know that moment was deeper than that, of course. The problem is how it came across. And the fact that there really isn't a solid explanation of what happened at that moment makes it hard not to look at it as a silly moment. It came across funny.
Just a couple of weeks ago I had 2 different people who liked this scene giving me a different explanation as to what went on in Bruce's mind. And that's the problem, it just wasn't clear enough and some people are willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and see it as something interesting, but it also is completely understandable when someone picks on it because it definitely had execution problems.

The Martha scene will always be a prime example for what bad execution in film looks like. The idea wasn’t bad but the delivery ruined any chance of it not being mocked for years to come.
