'Deadpool 2' trailer makes fun of Superman's 'Justice League' mustache CGI

The Deadpool 2 trailer was released this morning and no one was safe from the "Merc with a Mouth", not even Henry Cavill's Superman.

The trailer kicks off with an introduction of Cable, the movie's villain. He's supposed to have a metal arm but instead just has green spandex because the visual effects hadn't been added yet. Deadpool pauses the trailer and says "why are the visual effects not done? It's a metal arm. It's not like we're trying to remove a mustache!"

Deadpool is of course referring to Henry Cavill's mustache, which had to be digitally removed in Justice League due to his prior commitment to Mission Impossible - Fallout.     I never read any Marvel comics growing up, and to date have only read Civil War and Avengers vs X-men. I'm not a marvel fan at all, but their movies are entertaining.

      Whedon was in charge of the reshoots and rewrites and everything else. He was in charge of the mustache. The oversaturation. The cheesy jokes. The gross-looking scenes. The boring soundtrack. The sloppy CGI, cutting, editing, everything. His hands were on all of that. So he has direct responsibility, even if it was all according to WB’s command.
      If a commander tells his soldier to go slaughter an innocent village, is that soldier guiltless, because he was simply following orders?
      Snyder had nothing to do with any of those atrocious things. In fact, those things were all in a direct attempt to OPPOSE what Snyder established, distancing the final product from his original vision for it.
      So how is Snyder responsible for that stuff?

      I concur that all of those are indeed cringe-worthy. But if you look at the bigger picture, then you'll realize he did write over a third of the script (at the very least). Overall, I thought he did a good job. A lot of the dialogue really works, particularly the interactions between the team. You want to throw him under a bus over a couple of blunders that represent a mere fraction of what he wrote? If it makes you feel better...

      We have nothing to base this on though. There were rewrites happening with Johns and Affleck long before Joss was brought on. Even if you dislike Snyder's work, this was never going to be a true representation of his vision anyway. So how can you say with any certainty that Snyder's cut was bad? Maybe it just wasn't "safe" or lighthearted enough for WB execs.

      SS, too, why are you fighting the facts? That movie was a phenomenal success. A bunch of no-name characters, and it was super popular. You and I both hated it. Totally fair.       Suicide Squad was a horrible movie, but you are right that it had legs. And yes, it made a shit load of money without China even. However, critically it was disastrous, holding a 27% rotten with scathing reviews.
      Man of Steel made $680M. Calling it a success is basically conceding that Superman is equal to third-tier Marvel characters, like Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. It made less money than:
      - All of the Spider-Man movies, including the much-maligned Garfield reboot.
      - Iron Man 3
      - Suicide Squad
      - Both GOTG
      - X-Men: Days of Future Past.
      - Batman v Superman
      - Wonder Woman
      - The Dark Night, The Dark Night Rises
      - Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War
      - Both Avengers (both directed by Whedon and made $3 billion combined).
      Two things to pay attention to: it was released in 2013, just like Iron-Man 3, and yet made almost half a billion less. And It made as much as Doctor Strange.
      It was divisive among audiences and critics, no matter how you're skewing the facts to make it seem like it was a beloved family movie. Even John Campea, a movie pundit who believes this movie is a masterpiece, acknowledges everything I put above.
      BvS made tons of money, yes. However... it saw massive, disturbing week-to-week drops, so much so that it finished its theatrical run in North America with an embarrassing 2.0 multiplier. I,e. it only managed to double its opening weekend. The movie was frontloaded af, riding an enormous hype, which JL never had. Like Suicide Squad, it's too starring on RT with a 28% and scathing reviews.
      Summing up: Critically, none of those movies was well-received. MoS was the best reviewed of the bunch and it was quite divisive. BvS and SS were generally loathed and laughed at. Did they make money? Yes. But only because they were the first outings from the DCEU. As JL proved, there's no good will left, and future movies should expect an uphill battle.

      What I meant was that those scores are comprised of both people liking the movies and people who hate them. It's not about your conversation with the other user, that's on you two, it's that I find it a little bit hypocritical when people dismiss numbers who show people liking the movies but then talk about other numbers showing the opposite (not throwing this on you).
      Let's take IMDB as an example: people were giving tens to BvS (which of course is not a ten movie) and also zeros (which then again it's not). What I mean is in the end, taking into account all the scores and not only the extremes, there were more positive numbers than negative. The same can be seen in other similar sites, like RT.
      My point is then, why numbers showing a positive score comprised of both good and bad numbers is rigged when everyone voted with the same (opposite) passion? It's not that I agree on how the other user has expressed this, but it's true that majority of audience aggregator sites have shown more "support" to those movies, and I don't think every single score has been rigged.
      That was my point, I'm not taking sides here, it's just that I find that specific point amusing ;)

      Thing is when someone hates or likes something that bad they will spend days increasing the score or decreasing it. BvS has decent user scores but a lot of that is down to fanboys spending days trying to up it, look at the latest Star Wars RT user score, no way is that a 49% movie yet because fanboys spent days putting poor scores and reviews in it went so low.
      User scores not being credible has been a thing for years, you know in the gaming world there's a thing called meta-bombed, basically a bunch of people go on Metacritic and score and review a game down so its final score is extremely low.
      Honestly no one is their right mind will take user scores from any site seriously unless it has a decent written review attached. Critic scores aren't with bias because of course but they tend to be free of whiny fanboy bullshit and are usually written by someone who actually knows what their on about, not all of then of course (IGN are terrible for reviews) but most "Pro" reviews are for more credible then someone like NinjaGamer13 writing a review on IMDB gushing about how amazing Snyder and BvS is while throwing in some twisted untrue facts.

      Look at The Last Jedi's cinemascope and then proceed to look at its audience score from Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic and tell me fanatics hold no influence at all. I don't think there's a good enough tool that informs us the general audience reception precisely, unfortunately.
      With that said, try to remember the times BvS was released and the articles that came with it. The majority of them bashed BvS to an absurd extent because an already bad review apparently wasn't enough and they had to capitalize on such a huge event that it was. Now tell me honestly, do you think we would've got the same articles had BvS's reception been great as you state? I don't think so. Take a look at Wonder Woman for example and all the articles that came along with it, they were all extremely positive, right?       And just in case you're thinking BvS wasn't treated as fairly BEFORE the movie came out, remember that BvS's launch week held numerous successful events and countless reviews started popping up from people who hadn't even seen the film stating that it was an absolute masterpiece. You can check it yourself: all BvS had a few weeks prior to its release was glory. The bashing articles only showed up after the hype was done, reviews had settled and people started speaking their minds.
      Now think about WB as well. I know it's trendy at the moment to bash WB and act like every suit in there is a complete blockhead that knows nothing. They made a bunch of mistakes, yeah, but still you have to remember that those successful people that run this successful company know way more than we do about the stuff behind the curtains. Had BvS been received so well like you state it was, I don't think they would've aimed for such a huge change of direction as they did. After all is the general audience that makes them money, not the critics. Speaking of money, what's your theory on BvS's record-breaking drops?
      With all this being said I hope it's clear why I believe BvS wasn't received well AT ALL and ended up tarnishing DC's image pretty well. It's not all subjective, it's looking at stats and facts instead of contradictory data provided by these different websites you linked (some of them easily manipulated by an obsessive enough fanbase as The Last Jedi definitely proved). I'm not saying you shouldn't take them into account, but you can't simply ignore all the other factors just because they logically diverge from your shallow claims.

      The only metric to go by when gauging GA reception is BO numbers. Specifically, the legs a movie may or may not have, because opening weekend numbers is simply hype. If a movie has good legs = it is well-received. Otherwise, it's not. If it has a big opening weekend AND legs then it's a smashing success. Period.

Remember that poor word of mouth BvS had what led to massive drops each week because people weren't going back and weren't telling people to watch it.       Fuck sake the GA don't pay attention to any of that stuff, they don't even know about it. If they like a film they will watch it and tell people to watch it no matter what, SS had a ton of bad press but guess what the GA liked it so it made no fucking difference.

Now, I'm not saying it's impossible, but looking at similar grosses, i.e. GOTG 1 to GOTG 2, I think another hundred mill than last time is realistic, plus a little more, I'll call at 900 million. I won't be surprised if it passes 1 billion, it's just easier said than done.
