It's been nearly two years since we first learned that Warner Bros. was working on a Booster Gold movie, and today writer/producer Greg Berlanti said that he's completed a draft of the script and is waiting to see what Warner Bros. wants to do with it.
“It’s still in development with DC,” Berlanti told The Wrap. “I wrote a draft, they’re trying to figure out both the distance that we still have to travel and how we want to execute it.” He also added that Warner Bros. is trying to figure out "how it’s going to fit into their greater landscape," meaning the DC Extended Universe.
“That’s really on them, they’re still kind of determining their order of business on that end,” Berlanti said.
“We have a draft with a writer I liked very much,” Berlanti said, and The Wrap says his co-writer is Zack Stent (X-Men: First Class, Thor). As for a director? Berlanti told The Wrap that he'd be open to taking on that role as well.
“If the studio is excited — it’s obviously their determination. We finished all the work we need to do on the draft, I would love to do something in that space. I’m still a little clueless on how movies come together. I show up to work every day and make the work as good as I can but then they call me and say, ‘We’re making it!'” Berlanti said.
Berlanti is best known among DC fans for helping create the "Arrowverse" on The CW. Would you like to see his take on a Booster Gold movie as well? Let me know in the comments below.
