Justice League: Gary Clark Jr.'s "Come Together" single is available now to stream

Gary Clark Jr. and Junkie XL's cover of the popular Beatles song "Come Together" is now available to purchase and for streaming. Judging by the single's album art (above), it would appear that this is a track off of the upcoming Justice League soundtrack.

Gary Clark Jr. and Junkie XL's version of "Come Together" debuted earlier this year in the Justice League trailer. Clark Jr. performed the song live for the first time on Late Night with Seth Meyers earlier in the week.

  or Aerosmith. I like Gary Clark Jr but way too much distortion/fuzz on this tune. It just overpowered everything else. In the context of a trailer it kinda works but not as a song itself.

  I like the Beatles, I have a playlist of all of their hits that I listen to every now and then, my only issue is that the sound quality of some of their songs is not good. It puts me off sometimes.

as someone who writes original music I have zero respect for cover songs... you'll have younger generations saying "have you heard come together by Gary clark jr?" and they have never even heard of the Beatles... fuck that. It should always be stated as follows: "Gary Clark Jrs Version of Come Together BY THE BEATLES"

covers aren't necessarily a bad thing, but in order for them to really work, either:
A. The original is not that impressive - for example, I much prefer Hendrix's version of 'All Along The Watchtower' than Bob Dylan's original version, probably because I'm not a huge fan of Dylan's vocals and because of Hendrix's amazing riffs.
B. the cover is different enough from the original to provide a different experience - for example, Radiohead's cover of 'Nobody does it better'
other than that you are just left with, at best, an OK performance by someone else doing a great song.

  agreed but the irony is that those ideas for a new version would not have happened if it weren't for the original. and personally covers can be a bad thing... especially when it comes to the local music scene where you have a cover band drawing a larger crowd than a band that works hard to promote their own shows and are not using the luxury of playing already established hits. hearing new music and getting something out of it vs a live playlist is so much more rewarding. Unfortunately people would rather just turn off their brains and dance a la dubstep/EDM

      once I said "personally..." im talking about covers in general and my local music scene. It very well may be much different somewhere else but where I live that is the tragic state of affairs in regards to original music vs cover bands

  Don't be such a original music snob. As someone who writes original music I respect peoples personal tastes. If people were more into original music they would seek it out, like alot of people do... If you care about ORIGINAL music and art then stop supporting big hollywood frachises and support indie film makers. Musician covering song = actor portraying an existing character, Grow up.

Please post your original music so i can critique it. There's nothing wrong with people covering songs. Either people don't hear of the song or they hear a GCJ cover and then hopefully the original. Stop complaining.

  will do. I also have a couple of covers myself but I don't use them to excel my career. They are just for personal enjoyment and for friends and I never play them live and certainly would never consider releasing one as a single. Could I play covers and draw bigger crowds? Sure. But I don't because that's not what I believe in
