Michael Keaton corrects Stephen Colbert: No, "I am Batman"

Michael Keaton was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to promote his new movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, and once again he gave us an awesome Batman moment.

Colbert started to transition the interview to Spider-Man by saying "You've been Batman, Birdman..." but before he could finish, Keaton corrected him. "Yes, I am Batman". No past tense there! Check out the funny exchange in the video above at the 7:17 mark.

Keaton did something similar earlier this month when he was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He was there to promote Spider-Man: Homecoming, but all he wanted to talk about was Batman!

I definitely want film Batman to be more quiet and cool as you describe here.
Less speech says more with Batman, and though Ben's flashback narration was amazing in BvS, Keaton's mastery of body language combined with Burton's mastery of atmosphere is a fantastic template to inform future iterations of the character.
If we could just marry those two things into Reeves' vision for his Batman solo movie, I think we'd have the character pretty much epitomized.
Also, dat music... <3 I love the feeling of mystery and gloom. We need more of that too.

I love that he has so much enthusiasm for his Batman after all these years, the older I get the more these movies mean to me.
This is the first Batman that ever actually scared me (I was 7).

He really did scare the hell out of me.
I actually like the first suit better than the Returns suit now, Keaton looks crazy and the mask has this creepy Michael Myers quality to it that's fun to watch 😏 https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

He has never been my Batman, even though I grew up with his incarnation. I think he just wasn't convincing. He was just Keaton. Christian Bale is my Batman, with Affleck as a close second.

I'm not fond of his Wayne but he nailed Batman, he had that Batman type voice without the growlng and looked scary as hell in 89 Batman. Saying that Affleck is my favorite acting wise with Bale having the best Wayne.

It's hard to imagine that funny guy Keaton was ever once Batman, and such a fantastic version of him too! He really did get into the role, much more than any other.
