Two years later, Tyrese Gibson is campaigning for 'Green Lantern' again

Way back in early 2015, Tyrese Gibson was campaigning hard for the role of Green Lantern. He even took a picture at Warner Bros. studios and suggested that he landed a meeting after generating buzz on social media.

Well here we are, over two years later, and Tyrese is at it again! "It's time," he wrote on Instagram the other day with an image of Green Lantern.

We know that Warner Bros. is currently working on a Green Lantern movie featuring both Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Earlier this year it was announced that David Goyer would co-write and produce the movie. Do you think Tyrese has what it takes to play John Stewart? Let me know in the comments below!

I want to be able to take John Stewart's Green Lantern seriously. Tyrese in the role doesn't do that for me, but thats just my opinion.

  Same thoughts here. But if he does get the role, I would my reserve my judgement until I see the movie.

    I agree... if John Stewart has any humor it neeeeds to be dry humor... if not it will be tyrese as the GL and not John Stewart

  I'm extremely impatient for Jake to join the DCEU, and I'm still not on board for Armie to be a GL, because he's young, tall, in shape there's still a chance he might be Dick or someone else

    I want Armien for GL. After seeing him playing alongside Superman in Man from Uncle, I said immediately to my friends at the theater that this man should play GL. I'm very interested in Nate as JS. I thought Jake would make an excellent Joker. However, since that role was filled, I'm thinking of another villain he should play. I really want him to play a villain. 😌

    I like the idea of seeing a mature John Stewart played by Nate Parker, trying to deal with the arrogance of a still young Hal Jordan played by Armie amid the real problems that happen to his sector.

    In fiction it would not have to be so. However, they already altered the races, so altering the ages would not be so serious.

      This is the first live action DC universe on the big screen. I'll never not want Hal Jordan as the first human green lantern. Kyle should really be the younger one, I think it's better for the dynamic. And he probably won't appear in the movies until after 2020, since Green Lantern Corps is about Hal and John. I don't think Gyllenhaal is the best choice for Rayner, even for an older one.

  Open ticket sales really early, sucker people into buying it and release the embargo like a day before so it's too late to cancel.

I'm happy that Tyrese is still campaigning for the role. I don't think he fits Stewarts role at all. But IDK he might surprise, I didn't think Affleck would be my fav Batman when he was cast.
If Geoff Johns sits David Goyer down and writes the GLC movie then maybe Tyrese will get some good lines to really shine.
I personally am open to a lot of actors for this role. Hell I'd love Common to come back and do it.

I absolutely hate this idea but I'm thinking this recent tease from him means that he is going to audition for real sometime soon. If auditions are soon then that means we might get some news at Comic Con!
