The Batman director Matt Reeves has a new movie coming out this summer, and it's a big one! War for the Planet of the Apes. It's getting all kinds of positive buzz, and Reeves just released a brand new trailer.

Hyped as fuck for this one
I know the 3rd has yet to come out still, but this trilogy is easily going to be the best since Nolan's Batman trilogy which is both ironic and fitting since Matt Reeves will be taking on the next Batman film (s). Cannot wait for this!
This looks very good at the absolute least. I'll wait till I see it to compare it to Rise or Dawn, both of which I thought were great. I personally liked Rise a tiny bit more than Dawn, but that doesn't make Dawn any less of a film. I do indeed think Matt Reeves is a competent choice for The Batman
On a different note, after hearing about the footage of Wonder Woman and Justice League yesterday, I feel like the spoiler-free early screening reviews about the two from a while ago may be what I think of both films. They said that Wonder Woman is good but not great, and Justice League is a fun, salvageable mess. I'm not saying these reviews are in any way legitimate (they could be total BS for all we know), but honestly this is probably what most people are going to say about those two films. I will remain hopeful as always, and will wait to see both before I make an actual opinion on each, but I'm not going to be surprised if this is what I end up thinking about the two films.

Since that isn't what I heard of the rumors coming out of the WW screening, and they aren't anywhere near close to screening JL for non-insiders yet, why would you say or think that? It's baseless nonsense, and you even admit that whatever "reviews" you're talking about (from Reddit or some such I presume) could be total BS. So you're setting yourself (and anyone who reads this) up for misery and failure even though you claim you "will wait to see both before [you] make an actual opinion on each".
I'm not setting myself up for misery, first of all. I'll honestly accept both films as they are if they are that level of quality. Because I'll be honest, I think the DCEU hasn't been exactly that good so far. I'd love to elaborate what I mean by that if you wish me to do so, but I won't in this post. I'll take a good Wonder Woman film, even if it's not great, and I'll accept Justice League if it is a fun movie, especially given the people making it. ((Note: I'm not asking JL to be like the MCU in terms of being "fun." I mean having a dark tone but still enjoyable to watch and giving the viewer a triumphant feeling, something that the DCEU has definitely been lacking))

Third (I really should have elaborated this better), I'm not saying they are correct as in these people actually saw the movie (I highly doubt that for the reasons you stated). I'm just predicting that those descriptions are probably gonna be what I will think of the movie. I'm excited for these movies, but I've been disappointed three times so far, so I'm being skeptical.

I heard wonder woman is a straightforward movie.
even if Justice League is great people will hate it , you can see bunch of articles and texts and comments that are just hating on trailer, so a lot of people will enter the theatre hating it already, and Wonder Woman will get good reviews, i believe the movie will be great.
When an ape trailer is better than both JL and Spiderman...

I'm still not happy that Ben is not directing The Batman but when you can make an ape looks as bad ass as Matt Reeves has made Caesar and the great job he has done with that franchise which I'm a big fan of, at least we know the movie is in the hands of someone that has the talent to make a great film. The Batman will be the movie that true DC fans deserve!
To be fair, and Matt Reeves deserves a ton of credit for Dawn, but Andy Serkis is THE master when it comes to CGI-motion-captured characters. There's simply nothing that dude can't motion capture at this point and make it look brilliant and entertaining.

This is a concept that could be cheesy but he makes it look tremendous.
Previous 2 have been brilliant, no reason to believe this will be any different.
I mean realistically speaking how could a movie about fricking apes be interesting. But this guy, he made it very interesting. So glad hes gonna direct the batman.

Yes. It had one good movie the first time around (very much a product of it's time though), and the second one was an abysmal attempt at a reboot that was nothing short of a disaster. This is the only Apes on-going series that is actually being successful in terms of critical reception. If this one is a hit, then they're three for three.
OT: is the rumored runtime for JL actually an issue??
No? I don't even know why it's being discussed, a runtime shouldn't even be known at this point. They still have reshoots, scenes to cut, etc.

i don't care about runtime, i want it to be as long as possible, but i hate how these websites went with BS articles that 170min is problem for the movie.
I've enjoyed the previous movies but my one gripe about them, is the pacing. At times, it can be very slow. Reeve's ability to produce character driven action movies is second to none.

These films have been, and look set to continue to be, horrendously daft. I've yet to be given confidence by Matt Reeves appointment as Director despite checking out his filmography thus far. This doesn't look like it will help any.
I'm really looking forward to this film this summer, all of its predecessors have been brilliant up to this date, so this one should be jut as good and interesting, especially the story.
