Henry Cavill and The Rock both posted the same photo and message on social media today to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The stars share a manager, Dany Garcia.

Henry Cavill is obviously Superman, and back in 2014 it was announced that The Rock would play Black Adam in a Shazam movie. "We're excited for what the future brings..." Cavill and The Rock teased on social media today with the hashtag "#DCWorldsWillCollide".

Johnson has been calling out Cavill ever since he was cast in the DC Comics role. "One day you will see Black Adam go at it with Superman or Batman or any of the DC characters," he said last year in an interview with Total Film.

    Im going to go out on a limb and say that Black Adam makes the most sense going up against Shazam. I know, radical, but i just reckon it'd work...

      well it would make sense if they change shazam origin story, but making Black Adam the power of shazam, later on the villain being defeated and use it to bring a new hero into this world "Sazam"

    I would like to see Supes in Shazam, he can be Billy's mentor then we can also see these two battle without waiting forever. Similar to the Superman/Shazam animated movie.

    Could see Black Adam in a Superman film but honestly, save it for later if anything. I just want to see Superman solo films, flesh out the cast man. Loved Man of Steel's world, so many stories you could tell.

    As much as I love Batman I would love to see DCEU interconnectivity extend beyond Batman/Gotham City ties in other movies... Superman appearing in Shazam would be an excellent opportunity!

    It's worth noting that Johnson and Cavill share the same agent (Johnson's ex, no less) so this may not have been as-deliberate a meeting as it might otherwise seem... end-of-year agency party perhaps?

    EDIT: I have no doubt they spoke about possibilities regardless.

    Yeah, sure. Of course I'd like to see Superman and Black Adman go at it, In fact, Superman should be in Shazam's movie, like, how, you know, Iron Man is going to be to Spider-Man? Superman could be a sort of mentor and/or idol of Billy. I'm sure most fans would welcome it.

      I was thinking of that. In my mind I was sort of thinking that Superman could play a part in the Shazam! movie in a similar capacity. Something between his own movie and that one establishing his reach after his return. Also in keeping Superman fresh and relevant to audiences while helping Shazam! in its establishment to draw audiences less familiar with the character. Superman is always the most recognizable of all characters.

    I got something way cooler for you - Black Adam vs Ultraman (also played by Cavill obviously) having a really nasty superpowered psycho throwdown like they did in Forever Evil.

    That would make the Superman/Zod fight from MoS look like a cuddle contest

    As long as it's not considered MOS 2 then I'm all for it. Superman deserves some love, and I'm afraid if Dwayne Johnson was in his movie it will take the spotlight away from him.

      Agreed, Shazam needs a boost from a Superman extended cameo - not the other way around. Cavill is still waiting for his solo sequel to MoS and doesn't need another team-up.

    Gym motivation, thanks guys! Gained 5lbs this weekend, but it's ok because I lost 9 lbs in anticipation of the real super villain: SANTA CLAUS!!!!! With his perpetual off-season/holiday-season Zangief/Coleman muscles, he makes these guys look like Screech v Urkel. Except they're still way taller. Spreading holiday cheer like butter all over all your food. The ham, stuffing, and cranberry sandwiches throat kick. The post-gift-wrapping-just-to-throw-it-all-away-lethargy elbow drop. And he'll even get you at the gym, with his finishing move: Muscle Krampus! But it'll take more than just the two of them to stop him. It'll take... A THIRD BODYBUILDER!!!!! One that will play SHAZAM!. I wasn't yelling that one, his name is all caps plus an exclamation point. Played by, well, that's where I don't know. I'll just say John cena. Some say he's better at acting lately, I'll trust them and say his comedic timing is probably his best acting attribute, which is perfect in this case.

    "DCWorldsWillCollide" suggests that they will come together after a Shazam film. Like they would make that film separately at first and then make these characters interact. Kinda like how in MCU guardians has been a separate entity but they will come into the fold with Infinity Wars. Anyway...stoked xD and is it just me or with long hair Henry looks more Superman-ish 😀

    They haven't been filming for a while now, and he definitely didn't have that big a hair during filming. If anything they could have used a wig...

      Doesn't make much sense given that if they were planning for it, they would have done it the first time around. And is a mullet really something that would make sense? The mullet in the storyline in the 90's was something that existed because of the 90's... It's isn't very modern, and I don't know if Henry's hair is good for that kind of thing (his hairline is definitely receding, and it probably wouldn't look very good).

    I saw today that IGN´s biggest news story of 2016, 1 place above Pokemen Sun / Moon´s announcement (!) is that Leto was "tricked" into playing the Joker. That he was overwhelmed by the negativity and so on.
    None of that is true of source but B-N helped to propagate that rumor by misquoting Leto himslef regarding his rock climbing "embargo". The hate against the DCEU is thus partially an

    PS: Black Adam is awesome, but i can´t see The Rock going as dark with the character as DC did for the last 2 decades.

        most of them are intentional. only the water thing, lois falling, and superman getting hit over the head are nothing.

        The original sources are confirmed in the film´s credits, interviews and Blu-ray extras. Symbolism is also a Snyder hallmark (he prides himslef on this part of his craft). The linked results speak for themselves and his strong reliance on them is a main reason why he is disliked. Style over substance, too much on the screen at once, too many expectation of the viewers and so on.

          Ah well it's pretty neat than. Snyder is definitely a comic book fan, can't argue that. Unfortunately, I feel that fandom may distract his focus from the actual story.

      Most of those "parallels" mean absolutely nothing, if they were in fact intentional. People are reaching as far as they can in order to find things to like, I guess. Just like the movie all you want, nobody's telling you otherwise, but stop with these pointless bullshit arguments as to why these movies are better than they actually are...
