on Rumor: Megan Fox is circling Poison Ivy role in 'Gotham City Sirens'

Gotham City Sirens was announced just 24 hours ago, and the rumors of who will join Margot Robbie's female DC team-up movie are already rolling in.

According to Bleeding Cool, Megan Fox is preparing to play Poison Ivy in Gotham City Sirens. The site claims to have seen evidence that Fox ordered Harley Quinn #14, #17 and #38 comics and had them sent to her address at the Warner Bros. lot.

Harley Quinn #14 and #17 both focus on Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's early appearances with each other.

This is a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt, but could you see Megan Fox as Poison Ivy? Is there another actress that you have in mind? Let me know in the comments below!

        That's not even remotely true. Ben Affleck was the best live action Batman we've ever seen.
        He was emotionally detached when alone, played up the suave playboy when in public.
        What DC is doing now is reacting.
        If this news is in any way close to being true, they're starting to look for names rather than talent.

    Flash lost it's director, still no directors, writers and even actors attached to Green Lantern, Shazam and Cyborg yet this is being prioritized because why? What about the Justice League Dark movie? Man of Steel sequel? Is there a plan at Warner because it sure as hell doesn't look like it.

      Because they have no intentions on delivering on the so called "filmmaker driven universe". All they care about is what's proven, and even though Suicide Squad was hot garbage, it made money. So they hired the same hack director for a movie no one wants, and are going to fast track the shit out of it so they can see the dollars coming in. Apparently they want to ruin all the villains as well, not just the heroes... Fuckin' A.
      I definitely miss being a kid...

        Saying its a movie no one wants when its likely to make more money than a movie everyone wanted(Man of Steel,Wonder Woman, Flash) is pretty ironic but also somewhat indicative of the divide the hardcore fans have right now with the GA going to see these movies.

        Of course marvel gets the best of both worlds

          I'm personally psyched. Sirens (I enjoyed everything Paul Dini wrote for it) has a lot of potential for a great movie, and it would set up demand and interest in exploring the characters further in other films while also possibly giving them enough time and space for fleshed out re-told origins without taking over the storytelling of their central titles (like Ivy in Batman).

          Fingers crossed hard for a solid take on Riddler for once. No being overly goofy, and no being overly dweeby. We need a sophisticated, intelligent, confident Riddler. Sick of the cartoony crap - and, ironically, BTAS has one of the least cartoony, most respectable takes on him. Also Paul Dini. :) Ideally, they'd consult with him for this film.

        Dude, I fucking hope not, but this is David Ayer. If Suicide Squad was any indication of how he'll run things in this movie, Poison Ivy will be a terribly written character, so it's not like they need a good actress for it.

        Stop being so biased, and accept that you should be critical of the things you love. If you aren't, then you are just a sheep, dude.

      Those movies are a few years off still. They're figuring it out. Just because we aren't hearing about it a lot yet doesn't mean it isn't happening behind the scenes. This is typical business with film plans.

      As for movies like JLD, there hasn't been much incentive for them to prioritize it versus the popularity of Ben Affleck's Batman and Margot's Harley. Clearly people want more of that ASAP, and it makes sense to capitalize. In JLD's case, it looks like they're testing the waters with the animated film first to see how it does - or, at least trying to create a market for it by making new fans who would go see a live-action version..

      Ultimately, we're getting more of what we want, but we can't have it all at once. Gotta go with what makes the most sense first.

          I thought it was alright, and fun enough to be worth watching. All of that's kind of beside the point though.

          Margot's Harley, while visually controversial, was generally a big hit with viewers. It makes sense that they'd jump on that train while it's rolling full force.

      You complain about mostly 2019/20 films and how are they being "prioritized"? Flash also portably found a director by now. Or it already had a back up plan when Famuyiwa was sadly let go.

        In less than 24 hours of it being announced, you already have a writer and director attached, Warner wants to fast track it and if this indicates anything then auditions also seems to be happening. Other films got announced, when? 2014? When was the last time we heard about them? So they are definitely prioritizing this over them.

      Flash has lost 2 directors so far, and is still actively looking for one.
      Green Lantern Corps/Shazam/Cyborg aren't for a while and besides they're all characters Geoff Johns has a massive boner for so I don't think you should be too worried about them.
      JLD is being handled by New Line Cinema as is the rest of the Dark Universe including Sandman film.
      MoS 2 is down the line.

      This is being pushed forward because of the star power of Margot Robbie and the focus on female empowerment without it being forced like Ghostbusters. If you don't want to see a Sirens film, how are you a Batman fan?

            "Famuyiwa is now the second director to leave Flash. He put on the helmer's sneakers after Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the script and was attached to direct, departed. Grahame-Smith was working off a treatment by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who at one point were eyeing it as a possible directing vehicle."

            There you have it. Both Famuyiwa and Grahame-Smith were officially signed on to direct and left. Lord and Miller are those "maybes" you're referring to.

    Nah she looks to young, would prefer someone older, closer to Affleck's age. I think Carla Gugino is a good choice, good actress, attractive and has shown interest in the role.

        I don't see that as being necessary - they're hardly besties in Dini's stories anyway. Catwoman is sort of a reluctant outsider who eventually comes to like them as friends, but she's still the Batman of the group.

      To me, hair color is something that, if done right, can be altered for any actor; enough to fit a character's source material at least. But Poison Ivy has never really had a natural red, has she? Hasn't it mainly been a very bright kind of red?

    I like her a lot, but I think she's more of a TV show caliber actress. We need someone on Ben's level. I'd also want someone a little sleeker in the eyes; a little more experienced and sharp.

    3 things:

    1- Bleeding Cool is the yellow press of comic book news or as Greg Capullo once called them "Bleeding Crap."

    2- This article will explode in the upcoming hours from the fandom's traffic & eventual madness.

    3- If that's true then most people, even the hardcore DCEU fans, will find it hard to justify this decision.

        As a fan of superhero movies and an aspiring reviewer, I evaluate the DCEU away from these sentiments and certainly without comparisons to Marvel like some of the people with the "corporate slave" mentality and certainly without the nostalgia factor.

        I've enjoyed Man of Steel becasue it tried something new but I was really disappointed when WB decided to change an ongoing project and start a cinematic universe instead of a proper sequel like the canceled one Russell Crowe talked about.

        Perhaps "justifying" was a harsh word so I'll say "support" or "argue for" which is a thing I've done for the creative choices these past few years when everyone was beating us over the head with the "DC sucks" & "Man of Steel is bad" narrative so don't blame me when I sense that something I admire is being mishandled.

        As a commentator, I have to question some of the casting choices or the overall cinematic project which took off on a wrong foot. As for Megan Fox, I can't seriously think she'll bring depth to a Poison Ivy that could eventually stand up to Ben Affleck's Batman, acting wise.

    My man Rich Johnston himself is now @ it! Ha. Him i always trust, so her manager is probably writing mails to WB right now, but i hope that WB cut the cream from the crop. I saw Fox in non-Bay films and i don´t hate her but how about no.
    PS: The part about her having geek interest is actually true.! She will be the first in line to audition for an American Sailor Moon, if that miserable looking GitS film succeeds. Her husband is a quality actor btw.

    I wouldn't mind Megan Fox, yes, theres probably better actresses but I'm not going to act dickish about them maybe offering it to her.

      Well, there's nothing wrong with being a fan on a fan-based site complaining about a possible casting choice for a great character. This site is all about Batman stuff, so it's probably the ideal place to openly vent any frustrations.

      Personally, I don't think she's a good actor at all. Obviously she could prove me wrong, and I would gladly welcome that though.
