Voice actor Ryan Potter starred in Disney's 2014 animated movie Big Hero 6, and he thinks he has what it takes to play a live-action version of Robin in Ben Affleck's Batman movie.

The young actor went as far as to put together a short audition video, which you can check out above. The Robin he specifically wants to play is Tim Drake, and he showed off his aerobatic fighting skills before looking into the camera to address Ben Affleck directly.

"Hey Ben, like Tim said... Batman needs a Robin!"

Personally, I don't think we'll be seeing a Robin in Ben Affleck's Batman movie. If there was a Robin who was alive (R.I.P. Jason Todd) in the DC Extended Universe, why wouldn't we have met him already in Batman v Superman?

      It really wasn't bad. It's not like it was written by an actual writer. Just a video to show his skills and I like it.

        It just looked too fake for me. I wish he made it a bit more gritty and real, since that's the fighting style I'm used to seeing in the DCEU.

          That's not because he can't do it. It's because the director is an amateur and he doesn't have the stunt team Ben Affleck does. He would be trained by the stunt men to actually fight grittier. Don't forget how shit ben was in daredevil now that was cheese.

            I find enjoyment in most things I watch. It's more fun. As much as I love a classic like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, I can still watch a flick like Van Helsing and still be entertained lol

            There's Van Helsing and then there's Daredevil. The film is so horrible I can't get through it. I just cringe and I love fun films.

            ZING! Lol I've just come to realize that I'd rather find things to like about something than to just dismiss it instantly. I like being challenged. I enjoy trying to understand why a filmmaker makes a decision, especially when it's not instantly accepted by the fanbase. I've found that I get more out of the movie that way. Not every movie is high art obviously, and some require you to just turn off your brain, but I believe BvS for example, is severely misunderstood in a lot of ways. Oh well....

            I totally agree . Everyone wants a masterpiece that's an academy award winning movie to them . I watch movies even bad one to find those little things that WERE amazing :)

          I could actually see Tim having a different style; his upbringing, etc. is different from Batman's so his style would be, too (although he wasn't a circus performer so he wouldn't be as acrobatic as Dick). That's the sort of subtlety I expect from the DCEU,

          Also it has to do with the editing. Oftentimes frames are cut and limbs extended (along with sound effects and speed ramping) to make it more believable. Otherwise a lot of stunt work looks like this on set.

          I feel like the style fits Robin though, but that's just personal preference.

            It was a joke. I know Chris had major problems with Batman killing, but then said he doesn't want the gritty fighting to go away, meaning Batman fighting realistically in which people could die. Just seemed a bit hypocritical to me.

            I agree that it's only realistic to expect a couple of casualties, whether Batman directly intends it or not.

          Obviously it looks fake: its inside a gym with padded blocks, by stunt artists (except for the kid), most likely shot by a not very experienced camera man. don't you have enough imagination to picture what he just did under Ben Afflecks direction?
          what do you think fights look like when they shoot them? FAKE, cause they are FAKE fights. only after editing do they look good and "real"

      Not too bad, but I wasn't overwhelmed either. He's shown us he can handle the physicality. In fact, it just seems like an audition reel for Tim Drake's stunt double. If his wishes are answered, then maybe they'll call him in, to see if he can play Tim Drake the character.

      It wasn't bad at all! I think it would be neat to see how a younger superhero would fight differently. Plus, it looks more martial arts-influenced, which lends itself to a Robin or Nightwing well.

      I thought it was pretty decent for an audition video. Of course, Robin's role is not limited to a well choreographed fight, Robin's role is as important as that of Alfred's. So it totally depends on his acting skills.

      I dont think it was great or bad. personally I would have had him take a few punches, get thrown through a wall etc but still get up, like the DareDevil corridor fight. And no im not a troll, anyone should respect that corridor scene.

      I was never a big fan of Tim, he was the most boring Robin to me and while I approve the efforts of this kid there are many actors who can act better than him and if we should get Robin I want a good actor for the role.

      That's coming from the guy who is an ADMIN of a Batman fan site? Chris I'm shocked.. It's supposed to be fake, that's why it's called acting? What would you have him do? Run a few monologues that Robin used to say in the TV show back in the 90s? Heart and passion is probably the reason why he should get the Robin roll, it's bad enough Ben Affleck was cast as Batman, why not give a roll to a kid who wants to put it all out there. #Diversity

      Anyone who would go through the trouble of making this video deserves some props. Now to decide whether he's right for the role and stuff, I'll leave that to the DC Films team.

      Casting for these movies has been spot on, in my opinion.

      All this is showing is he has something to work with at a foundational level. it was amateur choreography and camerawork, but he'd obviously get the training needed if he was cast.
      What's more important than having a solid foundation in martial arts is his acting.
      If he can act, then I'd be all for it.

    Ugh no this just screams desperation and unprofessionalism. Movie making is not only a business but a craft that should be respected you got to stay level headed and proffesional you don't just beg on social media hoping for the fanboys to hype you up and thus forcing the studio to cast you.       If he is a good actor, does it really matter? His dedication makes him a good candidate for the role, just like Ryan Reynolds was for Deadpool. Remember when deadpool's test footage got leaked? Like that video, it was to show you the possibilities and getting us to talk about it.

    I would absolutely hate it if we don't get a living Robin we can assume dick is already nightwing and Jason dead so if he comes back Red hood so that leaves Damien and tim.its just that Robin is always apart of the mythology and the fact we haven't had him in any universe it's just saddening

    When was the last time an actor got the job they promoted for heavily on social media? Seems like film studios don't appreciate being "pressured" into a casting.

    These high profile casting processes are usually extremely extensive. Countless factors and variables are taken into account. So just because you make a cool social media video doesn't make you more attractive for the role.

    Same with Tyrese Gibson and his Green Lantern campaign. It was kind of sad seeing him try like that.

          They both campaigned for their respective roles. I'm not saying that they've done what Ryan has, but other actors have campaigned for roles and got them.

      Stay away from Carrie Kelly... Please for the love of god, I'll take ANY other Robin. She was the only part of TDKR animated film that made me cringe.
      If Deathstroke is the main antagonist it needs to be Batman/Nightwing.
      Jason is easily my favorite of the robins (I love dark characters) but Nightwing is the one they need to use. I'd love to see a Death of the Family storyline in the future Batman films but ANY OTHER ROBIN PLEASE!

    Absolutely I have nothing against race bending, but these actors need to stop parading themselves for roles. Let the casting directors and movie directors do their job. Plus one thing everyone can agree on, is that WB has done an amazing job with their casting choices for DC so far.

          This doesn't change too much about my opinion. We saw from the movie that he was intelligent. We know he's a criminal mastermind. It's what we should expect and be presented. My problem inately falls on Jesse himself. He's a proven actor but his physical presence and the way he presents himself is more akin to the to riddler than Lex. Lex as I've seen him in his depictions is a hard minded and well presented businessman with a charming exterior. He knows he's the smartest person in the room and while arrogant he doesn't play his hand as sold cocky teenager. He has that cool demeanor. I didn't get from Jesse E. What I did like about his performance was why he had spite for Superman. The all powerful and all good concept was wonderfully presented. I'll give that to him.

    I want this Batman solo film to be just that: a solo film. I don't think he needs a Robin at this time, and I'd rather see Bruce coming to grips with this world he's helped create: one of monsters and crazed men.

    However, that is merely a preference of my own. But the video itself, it felt forced, over choreographed, and a bit too mundane and banal. It seems like the kind of stuff with the right amount of practice, any young and semi-athletic actor could easily pull off. The part with the bo staff especially, way too cheesy.

    I could go on an on about how it's kind of annoying now how everyone wants to force their dream casting on the world by getting a fan base together and having them scream at directors and producers. Can't we just let casting happen? Work for it yourself, stop trying to get a mob to cast you.

    I think through out the DCEU we'll see different Robins, so yeah why not....he can do his own stunts and looks the part as well. Teen Titans definitely.
