Gal Gadot shows off her guns as 'Wonder Woman' production nears (photo)

If Wonder Woman didn't start shooting yesterday, it's starting very soon. Gal Gadot is once again bulking up for the role, and shared the photo above. "Morning work out! The best way to start my day!!!" she wrote on Instagram.

In Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot will reprise her role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Chris Pine set to co-star as Steve Trevor. Nicole Kidman is rumored to be joining the cast as well.

Stay tuned for more on Wonder Woman. We should be getting some official casting and production news very soon.

      I didn't mean "couldn't get any muscle" literally...technically, if she's been working out regularly (and I'm sure she has), she definitely gained something....exactly how much? It doesn't look like she's very different now...which is what I expected considering her body type, but maybe that's what Snyder was going for...

If you're going to critic, at least have the balls to admit you were WRONG!....and by these pics she has definitely gained very noticeable muscle mass, and looks like the Wonder Woman we all imagined.

    While I am not a user, I can honestly say that I am not biased. If DC does something stupid, I am all over them. If they do something good, I give them the appropriate amount of praise. Likewise, I do the same for Marvel. I don't judge them by who they are, but by the quality of work they are turning out.
    I've always found the rivalry that certain fans have against the competition to be peculiar. When you look at the number of writers, artists, and editors who jump back and forth between the two companies all the time, it's basically the same group of people in charge of two different entities. In that way, it makes more sense to have a dedication to a writer/artist/character who has proven themselves worthwhile to you, as opposed to picking a company.

        I hope Gadot does well - I really do - but I just can't help fantasizing what Arterton could have done with the part. Being a classically trained actress, she would have had no trouble giving WW the nobility and authority befitting an ancient princess. But being an experienced film/TV actress, she would have had no trouble nailing the modern woman Diana Prince part either. People keep saying that Gadot is "perfect" for the part because of her "exotic" accent. But my argument is that, if you want accent, you don't cast someone who is stuck with just one accent; you cast a talented actress who can comfortably transition between different accents. And it isn't just the accent - there is also voice, gesture, bearing, mannerism - so many things a classically trained actress could have done with the WW/Diana Prince duality. But instead of looking forward to appreciating Diana on this deeper level, I find myself worrying about whether Gadot is just going to revert to her "Fast and the Furious" style of acting!

      Sure, but Hemsworth has proven himself to be a great actor. Gal still hasn't. That's my only concern. Her acting ability. Her looks are damn awesome for Wonder Woman.

        she has been casted in Triple 9 with Kate Winslet and in Criminal with Kevin Costner. Both movies set to come out in 2016. Clearly directors see something in her.

        Thor was only Hemsworth's 5th movie role. Before then he's mostly in Australian tv and playing roles no bigger than Gal's role 'Gisele' in fast and Furious franchise. She is almost if not the same level as him when he was just starting out. Same thing with Henry Cavill

        Sure, but just because Hemsworth turned out to be a great actor, it doesn't mean Gal will. It just means that she is untested at this point. No one should be worrying about her physique. What people should be concerned about is her acting ability.

  I guess it depends on where you look. I happen to be a Batman and Star Wars fan, so I frequent sites dedicated to both. From my observations, it seems that people are going more insane for Star Wars. But I do agree with your guess on the release of the new trailer. Putting it in front of Star Wars would guarantee that an insanely huge number of movie goers will see it.

    Care to share your opinion? Do you see anything problematic or potentially problematic in what we saw so far about BvS? I say Eisenberg is potentially problematic.

      I do tend to stick to the comics, but that doesn't mean I don't have all the films as well. I have both of the serials from the 40s, the 66 show, the animated series from the 70s and 90s, all the live action Batman movies, and basically every released DC animated movie. I am just as familiar with Batman in Film as I am with him in comics. I just don't take the movies as seriously.
      The comic history to me is where the "real" story is at. So when a writer starts messing with it, I take offense. When it comes to movies, I give them a complete pass. I still have critiques, but I am insanely more lenient. After all, I see movies as just an interpretation of Batman. Not the "Real" Batman. Designed exclusively for mass consumption so as many people as possible can partake in it.
      Whenever I see people touting some movie as the closest interpretation to the comic Batman we have ever had. I'm like sure, that might be true. 20% similarity is closer than they have ever gotten, but they still have a ways to go till he meets the comics. I've yet to see comic book Batman on the big screen. The closest facsimile I can point out is Batman from Batman: The Animated Series during the 90s.
      To be perfectly honest, I see Zack Snyder as problematic. If anybody reads this, they will probably go ape-shit, but allow me to finish. I saw 300 and Watchmen and thought that they were easily the most screen accurate adaptations of comic movies I have ever seen. When I saw Snyder was directing Man of Steel, I was so excited to finally get a comic book Superman on screen. Then I saw the movie. While I thought it was a good movie, I didn't think it was a good Superman movie. I was even more frustrated when I realized that lines of dialogue from the movie were cherry-picked right out of issues of Superman. That means he read a good Superman story and then went with his own thing.
      I think you can see where I am going with this, so enough said.
      I think it is probably pretty clear why I don't comment on the homepage that much either. In the comic section, it is more about sharing ideas and debating points. Here, there is a lot more name calling and "nope, you are just wrong" statements without debate. That isn't a conversation, that is a sound bite.

        Yeah...every time I voice my concerns here, I get egged.
        Personally, I never read any of Sups's comics before MoS, so the movie was sort of a discovery to me. I had not yet formulated my opinion about what a good Superman movie needed, so there was no grain for Snyder to go against.
        But I don't share your sentiment about the comic book history. I've stated my hate for certain comic gook trends many times. Movies take source material and the audience. They cut out obvious bull, that comic book readers tend to let the writers slide.

        That's funny. I always thought that comic audiences were far more critical of the material they were presented with than average movie going audiences. I have to look no further than Michael Bay's Transformers/TMNT having huge box office draw to find evidence of the undiscerning masses.

        What I am saying is that comic audiences are more vocal about the problems they see. I'm not saying they don't buy some crap. I'm just saying that after they do, they complain to no end about it. I think most of the criticism that comic movies undergo is from this same group of people. Not the average movie going audience, but the comic readers who are seeing the movies.

      Luthor is the smartest guy in the world, and he won't hesitate to tell you. Eisenberg is really good at playing that, but I hope he reigns in the sarcasm a bit.
      And Brandon makes a good point: there has yet to be a truly completely accurate Batman portrayal onscreen. Of course, there has yet to be a truly accurate comic book adaptation onscreen as well (excepting Sin City), but that's ok. They're different mediums telling different stories in different ways. Even the animated series, which I adore, differed from the source material in certain aspects.
      Now, I'm going back to waiting in line for Star Wars tickets.

        No we're not, this is a DC site so we discuss all things DC relative to anything else....like a said any TRUE DC FAN is more hyped to see Batman and Superman on the big screen for the FIRST TIME EVER!! than Star Wars 7, which we have seen six times before, and not to mention those awful prequels. I wish they never made those, and with that said there are many people that are not looking forward to Star Wars 7.

        Let me ask you a question....if you don't like DC then why are you here? Forget it, I know why because you know in your heart of hearts that this DCEU is going to be something special and is truly going to change the way Superhero movies are made once again. You see this is what DC does, they changed it with The Dark Knight Trilogy, now they're going to change it again with the DCEU. You just sound like a Marvel manchild whining that his toys are not "in" anymore. DCEU is thankfully taking superhero movies to the next level, which I am glad because the general population was getting tired of Marvel diluting the genre with their zero substance feel good power rangers, sorry meant avengers, type of movies. You should be proud that DCEU is taking the genre to the NEXT LEVEL, if not we would not have anymore comic book movies in the near future.

        I didn't ask you to do anything...I made a factual statement saying I hadn't seen a "ripped" Banner.
        Furthermore, the goalpost has always been to prove what Marvel Comics ever wanted Banner to look like...you took ONE issue where Banner is depicted as buff (without context, mind you...but I digress) whereas I showed you SEVERAL different media where Banner is depicted as a man with an average physique (because Bale may have been scrawny, but in both comics and animation, Batman is huge...just like in comics and animation, Banner is average sized).
        So I've shown you from several sources that Marvel has always intended Banner to be average build, just like Mark Ruffalo, Edward Norton and Eric Bana were. You only took one comic series without context and ran with it.

      Dude, it's not like the Flash will be Henry Cavill-levels of buff. Different heroes have different types of body. Supes and Bats need to be buff, but characters like Tony Stark or Vision don't, and it'd just look ridiculous if they were.

      Not true Scott Lang is only a minor Ant-Man without scientific background. Hank Pym is much more interesting and he has a relationship with Wasp.

        As the movie explained so did the comics, Scott Lang is an electrical engineering specialist and he has his fair share of individual comics
        Atleast he had a solo movie of his own with a sequel coming up in 2018. Something that I cannot say for Carrie or Barbara.

Chris, I see on the IMDb page Jenkins will use IMAX camera's for this. Have you got any confirmation on this? It would be incredible if WB could make it happen that every DCEU film will party be shot in IMAX. BvS and Suicide Squad already are, hopefully Wonder Woman too!

  I haven't heard anything other than WB and IMAX have a deal for a bunch of movies to be shot in IMAX. Wouldn't surprise me if all of their big superhero movies are shot in that format.

    Oh I thought that IMAX deal was about WBs films being shown in IMAX, not necessarily shot in IMAX.. However, if what you say is indeed the case then I have no doubt every DCEU film will be partially shot in IMAX for sure! Isn't that incredible? I hope Snyder will use the IMAX cameras A LOT for Justice League!

    IMAX camera or a regular panavision camera it doesn't make any difference to the camera operator, only the editor and some VFX guys will be noticing the change in work.

    Yeah Suicide Squad will partially be shot with IMAX camera's. I've seen a pic of the DOP with an IMAX camera and some posts on the crew using IMAX for shooting aerial shots. However, it hasn't been officially confirmed yet (note that it also took a great while for WB/Snyder to say they used IMAX for BvS). As for the IMAX camera, there are very few people who worked with it and I don't think it'd matter much who's got to use it. Like Harish says, the VFX guys notice it the most. As for the DOP of Wonder Woman, we know next to nothing about it but I figure they'll let us know soon who are all behind the camera and who are in front of it.

        Barbara Gordon or Carrie Kelly or a random Gothamite #6 no matter which role she ends up in she will be a minor supporting character who will be having a negligible screen time, at max 10 minutes screen time in a Batman solo if she's Barbara.

        Under the Red Hood is the story line that is being followed for the solo Batman that movie already has Jason Todd, Nightwing and Joker apart from Batman those guys are the main focus I mean even Nightwing won't be as much of a main focus as Jason and Barabara doesn't really play a big part in that story line.
