Jim Carrey, who played The Riddler in 1995's Batman Forever, told MTV that he'd love to appear in the new Batman movies. He's under the impression that Christopher Nolan is still making them, and said he didn't think reprising his role as The Riddler would be a good idea.

Nolan and Carrey were working on a Howard Hughes script in the early 2000s, but that project got scrapped when they found out that Martin Scorsese was also working on a Howard Hughes movies, The Aviator.

Would you like to see Jim Carrey got another shot at a Batman movie. If not The Riddler, which role would he be a good fit for? Let me know in the comments below.

        According to you? Until we actually see the movie to verify. Your opinion isn't a fact. Before DoFP was released, we did not know which would be background characters or main characters. Same applies here.

            4. Even if he does make some sort of creation. Did DoFP not have Sentinels as creations as well? Oh and would you look at that. Another character we can add to the list. Bolivar Trask.

            It just bugs me that people complain about it being "overcrowded". It isn't a valid form of criticism because several blockbuster films will have a lot of characters and therefor feel "overcrowded" before release.. It depends on execution and how well the director uses these characters. It wasn't personal though. I apologize if it felt that way.

            Cool. That's like saying that the Sentinels were a primary character in DOFP. Afterall, Bolivar's creation was the one actually fighting the X-Men, because Bolivar didn't fight them himself.

            Whoa, if we're now going to include the Sentinels then DOFP is way over-crowded and clearly had too many characters.

            Did you see his other comments, when Alex Vidal asks him about the complaints of overcrowding in DOFP before release, Atomic Man replies "because those people were stupid". Then the other stupid and hollow comment would be: "he's creating something". The most epic logic fail of the day would be "lex's creation will be one since lex won't be fighting himself".

            If Spock today read Atomic Man's comments, he would de-evolve from half-Vulcan to complete Neanderthal.

        Let's see.

        There are two main characters: Batman and Superman

        Three major supporting characters: Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and Diana Prince

        Several primary background characters: Alfred, Perry White, Arthur Curry, Ma Kent, Victor Stone, Mercy Graves, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, Jenna Malone and Callan Mulvey

        How exactly does the size of this cast deviate from other movies of it's scope? I'm not saying the movie doesn't have the potential to be crowded, but based on the cast that has been announced and what we know about their roles, this is a pretty normal size cast for a big-budget 2.5 hour action flick.

        Seriously, why do you think the cast appears to be more "crowded" then any other super hero movie we've had in the past decade?

          Do you consider Bolivar Trask to be a main character in DOFP? He's the villain in that movie.

          Aquaman and Arthur Curry are same person. I listed him under primary background characters. I'm guessing his role will be small but crucial, anywhere from an extended cameo to a supporting part. Using the DOFP comparison, his role will probably be similar to that of Quicksilver's.

            Ok, so DOFP had five main characters including Boliver Trask. That's still more main characters than BvS has, even if you assume Luthor and Diana will be main characters.

            Again, based on your understanding of the cast, why do you assume that BvS will be "crowded" whereas almost every other major comic book movie from the past decade have had similar size casts?

            Like other film studios don't? They just want to make a great film for the fans, Snyder and the rest of the developers know what they're doing and I'm sure they learned from MoS. Just enjoy the movie man.

            On a side note, I think someone on here mentioned that Mulvey was going to play Parasite which would be sick.

            Sure. Or Callen Mulvey could be a cameo (KGBeast?) Or an easter egg setting up a sequel (Metallo?) or the Luthor creation/henchman you've already listed as a character (Doomsday?) He could be on screen for 5 seconds or 5 minutes.

            That would be like predicting that Avengers was going to be crowded because of rumors that Thanos was set to appear.

            It's still a mystery. I heard a rumor that Scoot McNairy was playing Jimmy Olsen, but nothing confirmed. All we've seen is that image of him wearing the green CGI stockings, which implies his character either has super powers or is an amputee. Mercy Graves is the name of Lex Luthor's bodyguard.         If the movie you're referring to is Dawn of Justice, Jim Carrey never said he'll be in the film. Plus it's not crowded. You're not looking having an unbiased opinion. You're mind is already set. Just look. Days of Future Past had "background characters" which I guess means supporting characters and so does Dawn of Justice and they're not that many as the other X-Men movies. Dawn of Justice has a few supporting characters as does every movie so if there are too many "characters" already then I guess every movie is crowded because most movies have 2 or 3 main characters, at least 5 supporting roles, 1 villain and A LOT of small roles like extras or 3 minute roles

    Chris Nolan is usually pretty good when it comes to casting. But Jim Carrey as Howard Hughes? I'm really glad that never happened. Though I had a hard time accepting Leonardo DiCaprio as Hughes so maybe Carrey wouldn't have been worse. As for reprising his Riddler, the problem is that I never saw The Riddler on screen. I saw Jim Carrey wearing a green suit and makeup doing a variation on his Mask character. The Batman villains really need actors who can disappear into their role, like what Heath Ledger did with The Joker.

Batman Forever was the highest grossing live action movie of 1995. So there were obviously some people who liked it. And I think it was better than The Dark Knight Rises.

            Oh, and Batman Forever was not the highest grossing movie of 1995, it was the sixth-highest grossing movie of 1995. It grossed 💲 336 m (which is quite dismal going by today's standards) on a feeble budget of 💲100 m. So technically you can call it a "success". By present standards, its much like Green Lantern (which is considered as a severe underperformer) which grossed 💲 219 m on a budget of 💲 200 m.

            Whatevs. Even an extraterrestrial knows how crap and campy Batman Forever was as per universal consensus. It was so severely panned that it tore down all of Burton's brickwork.
