Update 11/05/14: Christopher Nolan has issued a statement to BuzzFeed, saying that the quote from The Guardian's piece is inaccurate. "I would never say someone else's film isn't 'a real film,'" Nolan said in a statement to BuzzFeed News. "The quote is inaccurate."

Subsequent to publication, Nolan disputed the quote attributed to him by Snyder. According to Nolan, he had told Snyder, "We shouldn't be chasing other movies, but stay true to the tone of Man of Steel."

A new profile by The Guardian reveals some interesting tidbits about the latest Superman movie. Nolan served as an executive producer on Man of Steel. He hired director Zack Snyder and even worked on the story. To help him prepare for the job, Nolan had Snyder study test footage from White Sands, New Mexico, to get a sense of how objects behave at high velocity.
One of Marvel's trademarks is the post-credit scenes they put at the end of their movies. Sometimes they're funny, but they almost always tease what's next to come. And they work! They generate buzz and get fans excited. Warner Bros. took notice and wanted to do something similar in Man of Steel, but Christopher Nolan rejected the idea. "A real movie wouldn’t do that," he said, according to Zack Snyder who spoke to The Guardian for their piece on Nolan. That story just further proves the power that Nolan has in Hollywood.
With Nolan only serving in an advisory role for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, maybe Warner Bros. will get their wish and add a post-credit scene to set up Justice League.
