After months of having to dodge questions and give vague answers, Jason Momoa has finally opened up about being cast as Aquaman. Momoa was on a panel over the weekend at the Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta and addressed his secrecy about the role. "Listen, I was asked to play it. You know, you audition and stuff like that, but the fact is you’ve just got to keep it quiet. You know what I mean, I was just trying to respect Warner Bros. and everyone’s wishes. I’m really, really happy that I don’t have to be quiet anymore, because that’s really hard for me," he told the crowd. He went on to say that he's very excited to be a part of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and even called director Zack Snyder a genius. Jason Momoa's Aquaman will make his debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, followed by Justice League Part One in November, 2017. Momoa will then star in his very own Aquaman movie in July, 2018.

      actually in the new 52 superman always hovers in the air while speaking with fellow team mates and when in Watch tower hanging out, so as to remind readers of his alien nature, and i am sure Zack will include this unique trait to Henry's version also.

        What does the Avengers have to do with this? The initial comment was Kent reminding Batman his mortal. My comment was a potential POV of Batman toward Kent.

        Aquaman can destory Iron Man,Spiderman,CA,Hulk,Thor alone. He is the king of seven seas,70% of earth. Only Thor have some power,rest of Av members are toys in front of JL. No competition. Wonder Woman (Goddess). Superman (God). Batman (Name's enough). MM (God). Flash is tentimes faster than light. Hawkman (God). JL line-up is lightyears more powerful and experianced and dangerous than Ave. It is life professor v 1 year old baby comparison.

      Actors who play DC heroes lots of have Oscars. I am here only talking about actors who play heroes. 5 actors play till now Batman and 3 have Oscars. Ben have double Oscars! Most high profile superhero role also is Batman in comic book history so it is expecrted!

    I agree with both of you, it mostly looks very good, but it definitely has some risks; Ben Afleck, Jeremy Irons, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher are all perfectly cast. On the other hand, Gal Gadot and Jesse Eisenberg are still the wildcards that worry me just an eeny-teeny bit. Plus, Zack and crew must be very careful with how they juggle all these characters, to avoid the "Spider-Man 3 -effect".

        Do you know how much Superman's creation influence future comic book heroes concept? Both in DC and Marvel,and other publishers? He is the first world wide successful superhero character in comic books. You even ignore his contribution. Your Marvel heroes can't exist if he not invented. Like Avengers can't exist if JL not invented in DC. Show some respect neutral Marvel boy!

    Gadot is the only cast member Im dubious about, not her physique, but her acting. I for one am excited to see Eisenberg's Lex face off against Affleck's Bruce. Battle of the minds.

        1) in Blu Ray of mos there is a special where someone says beware the bertron's curse and something after that, and in comics bertron is the creator of doomsday.
        2) do you remember the bully kid who tried to attack a young clark (where his father suddenly shows up behind) that kid's name is Kenneth Braverman (According to the credits) and Kenneth is Conduit in comics.

Bro a young actor called Dan Amboyer has been been cast in BvS as Drone Pilot and he pretty much looks like Hal Jordon, so my bet is on that guy, playing Hal Jordon. (plus it goes with WB tradition of using young and unknown actors for long term major super hero roles)

  Snyder's way of casting is very predictable he shortlists only 2 or 3 or sometimes only 1 and goes and directly asks them, and of course Amboyer was great in some TV shows as well, this guy has acting talent just like Ezra Miller (Perks of being wallflower, We need to talk about Kevin) and Ray Fisher (Fetch Clay Make Man)
  plus it is always beneficial for WB to hire young and not yet popular actors for their long term franchise.

My guess is he starts off as the King of Atlantis and they make the solo movie pre man of steel and then set it during man of steel with the world engine. My guess is most of these movies will be going back in time especially if it is an actual 2 part Justice League film and not just Justice League and its Sequel. They could make it where these films all intertwine and as the action in Justice League happens it goes into their origin story to help them find the strength to beat someone like Darksied

  that would be a cluster F dude, i mean it might be highly confusing, i mean to say after seeing them in their present consecutively in 2 movies it would be akward to completely jump to the past, my guess is that they will introduce the characters in BvS or JL in a subtle way and will showcase their mythos in all it's glory in solo movies, along with little to medium past history of the character but not a total origin story.

  it would be great to see a harpoon hand but that would serious restrict his speed and efficiency when it comes to fighting with trident or when fighting in common, so i would prefer this version of Aquaman having Water Bearer hand, that mystical Atlantean weapon almost makes him a god (in terms of the capabilities and powers given by the water bearer hand)

    It's true, I've been thinking of ways for it to not to be a handicap for him, but I couldn't. If he doesn't have it I wouldn't be angry, but if they did give it to him and he was able to use it in a way where he has an advantage over everyone then that'd be cool too.

  i am sure Martian would not be in the justice league membership, i believe it's better for martian not to be in justice league, because in the new 52 martian is not in justice league but he is the leader of Justice League of America a government based Justice league, because now it's martian's team he can show his full badassery and powers here but not when standing next to superman, and what martian suffered in the animated series.

if you ask me i would want Water Bearer hand, because that mystical atlantean weapon, makes aquaman extremely powerful and dangerous (giving him many powers like water bending, passing electric currents etc and many others) and makes him equally dangerous in combat when put against superman or wonder woman.

I think that's an unattributed rip from this comments column! Next thing you know it'll be translated as pure fact in Latino Review and from there it'll wind up on Moviepilot and Kpopstars. Entertainment blogging is more corrupt than Gotham City. (This site excepted... Chris usually does a good job of keeping away from crap rumors.)

  actually he was officially cast in batman v Superman as a drone pilot, but according to me it's a way to hide his true role until WB wants to reveal it by themselves, something tells me this guy is going to play Hal Jordon (Green Lantern) because if he is playing some other character there is no need for WB to hide his role as Drone Pilot and more over these days WB is looking for young and not yet popular actors for their super hero roles and this guy fits all the bill, so i made that statement.

      might be who knows, as of now it is a thoughtful speculation from my side, knowing zack's way of casting, it's pretty easy to guess, that guy short lists only 2 or 3 and sometimes only 1 and directly approaches them and that's what happened with the casting of Cyborg (Theater actor) Flash (Indie film actor) and now Dan Amboyer (Theater Actor/Small Budget TV Actor)

That's what I've been saying!!! Zack Snyder is a feakin' GENIUS! It's too bad that he can't literally direct every DC film. However, I expect him to oversee them all. Based off of resumes and availability, I'd choose Chris Columbus, to direct the Aquaman movie. 24.media.tumblr.com/b12df29...

  I love the ethnic diversity, in the DCCU. It would have been so easy to cast a well known white actress as Wonder Woman, and a blue-eyed blonde haired white actor, as Aquaman. Props to Zack Snyder and Warner Brothers, for have a specific and creative vision, for the DC characters.
