Even though every reliable website online has reported that Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he's still not ready to confirm it! The actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and Kimmel immediately asked him about the Aquaman news. Momoa tried to brush off the question, but you can tell he's definitely going to be Aquaman. Watch it all unfold in the video above.

The hair and the beard confirmed it for me ( he had the beard very short for a dvd movie called Wolves last year doesn't need it for Game Of Thrones as he's dead ) AND the picture he posted the other day...so looks like they are going with the bearded Aquaman

Don't get me wrong I think Jason can make a wonderful aquaman and finally will stop being the laughing stock of the dcu( at least for tv or movies). But I think Jason would be even better as lobo, he's already got the hair and facial hair even his style reminds me of lobo. I dunno if it's just me but I'm kinda disappointed because he would be the perfect casting choice for lobo just like jack Nicholson was for the joker back in 89.

27 likesI definitely agree it would be a bit difficult but given the rumours for the basis of this story that lex and Bruce are bringing superman to justice for what he did to metropolis. I think it would be cool once Bruce finds out supes is an ally and lex is one not to be trusted. Then after the fallout with Bruce, lex some how came into contact with lobo to take out supes and batman and some of the other camoes of the justice league would help take him out and it would open a door to the bigger villain for justice league(hoping darksied) instead of having just lex as the villain In this one. I know it's not going to happen but I thought that would be cool to see. At least we know this aquaman is going to be awesome. I really want to hear some flash and green lantern castings though lol.

To be honest, I hate the idea that Batman would be helping Lex bring Superman to justice for two reasons. One, is that Batman in any incarnation is never the most trusting individual and will try to turn every stone in Lex's arsenal before he even agrees to anything. And two, I find it that it'll be easier to convince the younger, more naive Superman that Batman can be a national threat much like in The Dark Knight Returns. Call it nitpicking but I just can't see a veteran Batman siding with Lex.

Good Lord, he is MASSIVE! He is going to fit in just fine with the Justice League. I'm sure he's only going to be in B v S for only a scene or two. MAN, I can't wait!

Alright, so Ben Affleck directs the next Batman movie and Jason Momoa directs the next Aquaman movie? This excites me.
Also, pretty irrelevant, but everyone buy Grayson #1 out on July 9! Support our boy! He isn't gonna show up in movies or tv shows anytime soon, so why not support him in the comics?

They are probably saving it for Comic-Con. It's possible they want to reveal Momoa with the rest of the cast as well as the full Justice League roster.

She denied it in every interview by saying she's playing a good character. LOL I feel your pain. I also wish they revealed it and many other things we "already know" just to amp up the excitement.

Yup he's definitely Aquaman lol. From 'Punch me in the face' to, 'Well you'll have to wait and see but what do you think?" Great choice and even from the casting, you can tell WB, Zack and co are trying to make Aquaman popular, likable and I guess 'cool', since Momoa is such a likeable dude and has intense screen presence....and he looks like a badass. Here comes the ending of all the Aquaman hate!

I'm probably not the only one who is noticing that he wrote, directed, and acted in his own movie, just like Affleck. I hope this is a sign that he and Affleck will both be making their own solo films as Aquaman and Batman. I want a great, gritty, no nonsense attitude kind of Aquaman for a change. Once this man makes Aquaman happen, Marvelites will have to direct their punchlines at someone else (jk, jk, you know what I mean).

0 likesTo me, Aquaman has to be blonde. It just wouldn't be him if he was not blonde. It's actually a plot point in his story. Do you think he would look good as a blonde? I don't.
It's not about race, it's about me thinking that he just isn't right for the part. And I have absolutely nothing against him. It's my opinion. And I know I'm in the minority, but it's still my opinion. Is it possible that I will eventually change my mind? Yes. I have about other casting choices in this movie. But, for now, this how I feel.
2 likesIf they want to distance themselves from the mockery this character has received over the years, making him not-blonde would be a good way to start. It's better if people concentrate on the character, and not his image (which is associated with the #1 most made-fun-of character of all time).. And why would he look ridiculous if he had blonde hair? Because his skin is dark? I'm really struggling to understand here.. he's Atlantian, why couldn't he have an unconventional appearance? Making him a blonde-haired-blue-eyed Aryan looking dude doesn't make any more sense if he is part of some ancient underwater race right? I know he is supposedly half-human in many incarnations, but still. I can't see the problem here.
