Bleh, if there was one element of the dark knight returns I didn't like it was the butch and irritating female robin, seemed more like a "hell let's have a female robin" rather than a necessary story element, she needed some crowbar therapy

Assuming they are at least halfway following the comics she'd be one of three characters: Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, Robin/Carrie Kelly, or Robin/Helena Wayne from Earth 2. Am I missing anything?

I think I would bank more on Barbara Gordon as a quick Batgirl cameo in Gotham, or as Oracle. The actress is almost 30 years old, so it could work that she's an older Barbara, either as Batgirl still, or as Oracle more likely. Though she could indeed also play an older Carrie Kelly who just happens to be more experienced at the time during the movie, and a bit more of a badass Batman partner, sort of like Nightwing, rather than a green-at-the-gills sidekick like the character was in DKR. Or she could have just recently dyed her hair red for the hell of it, lol. Who knows.

All speculations but still nothing confirmed. Maybe Jena dyed her hair red to get another look for a change, God only knows. I'm crossing my fingers everyday for my idol.

I think the best way to go is with no sidekicks. Maybe nightwing but with a more mature less vigilante role. Although I REALLY hope to see the bat cave filled with vased suits for Batman and Robin

Carrie Kelley Robin portrayed by the gifted Jena Malone. She would be a real revelation in the movie. Johanna Mason from THG-franchise dreaming about her role in BvS or Justice League

I have no issue with them bringing Carrie Kelly and Jena Malone would be perfect for the role a lot of people are complaining but if the story is good what is the problem the movie is inspired by the dark knight returns which Carrie Kelly plays a vital role in TDKR Jason Todd was already killed by the joker so it would be interesting to see how batman is already affected by his death and they don't have to use her for other movie just this one if they use her right then this can work very well I'm excited for this movie and can't wait to see what direction they go as far as the plot and why bats will go up against supes I'm more concerned for who will be the other villain besides lex and I'm hoping it's metallo it makes a lot more sense and I hope they add the mutant gang for batman I would love a joker reference or something but I don't think they need him in the movie as opposed to having his influence I'm sure we will be blown away by the special affects and the action

This movie will be a defining moment for DC and Warner Bros and will be better then any movie marvel has made and marvel makes good movies but DC is on a whole nother level of epicness at first I was upset cuz I felt like superman should have had his own movie to get his franchise going cuz we just had a great batman trilogy but now I see why BVS is a great idea and it will get the ball rolling for other DC characters plus it's batman going toe to toe with superman and their using TDKR as the source material more then any other bat movie this movie can go on to be the best selling comic movie of all time I do hope they do the death of superman arc for another movie so we can have Henry cavil with the long hair and black suit that would be great maybe for MOS 2 or 3 we also need brainiac and bizarro in a movie together

If Jena Malone portrays the female Robin then the movie will be even more awesome than before. This amazing actress will make a difference to the movie. You should be glad having her in the movie.

Only way to distinguish this universe's batman away from other iterations is to focus on historical accounts of his interactions with his sidekicks

This would be horrible. The first Robin we ever see on screen being Carrie Kelly? It HAS to be Dick. We need it to be Dick. The development from Robin to Nightwing is one of the best things in the Batman mythos. You can't have an established Nightwing. Also, it's way to soon to add Robin. It's the very first movie Batfleck will be in and it's Batman V Superman. Adding Robin will only complicate things. DC barely has it's top heroes established. Robin would be rushing it. I say they take it slow and make it good, rather than playing ketchup with Marvel
