Jena Malone looks like Robin with her new red hair

Earlier this summer actress Jena Malone was spotted on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She said on Instagram that she was just visiting, which makes sense considering she worked with Zack Snyder a few years ago on Sucker Punch. Still, that didn't stop fans from speculating that she may have a role -- everyone from Harley Quinn to Robin was suggested.

A new post on Instagram has sparked up more speculation. Malone recently dyed her hair red, not unlike Carrie Kelley, the female Robin from "The Dark Knight Returns".

Last week Ben Affleck confirmed that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be heavily influenced by "The Dark Knight Returns". Personally I don't think Jena Malone's new hair has anything to do with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but I'm not going to say it's a completely farfetched idea either. What do you think?   Why not? She could totally pull off "DARK KNIGHT RETURNS" Robin... assuming Dick Grayson is now, Nightwing.... considering the fact that this is supposed to be the older more seasoned Batman. She has the look. Maybe she'll be nothing more than an Easter egg, paying homage to The Dark Knight Returns story.

    I don't think the objection (at least on my part) is the actor rather the notion. Robin on live-screen has never been done well - both Graysons were shocking. If we want to pay homage to anything it should be in the form of justice to the Robin character. Hell if its an old seasoned Batman, chuck in an adult Tim Drake. Also, I don't want this to be a Batman team up i.e. Batman and Robin v Supesdog. Not that I think physical combat is necessary either but any conflict what so ever should be only Batman v Superman. Even with WW, let her play a mediating role or if B&S work-together let her assist.

    An adult Dick or Tim is one thing, but an adult Carrie totally defeats the point of her role in Dark Knight Returns. Allowing a 30 year old woman to make an informed decision to join in Batman's fight against crime is just too not inappropriate.

      Sucker Punch is a terrible movie made by a great visual director who can't do much else well. As for it being a good movie that you have to figure out, that's clearly not the case. There's a reason why critics, who get paid to "decipher" films and have earned their respect in the industry, universally hated that movie.
      Tell me, please, what you have deciphered about that movie that makes it so great.

      Those critics were idiots who didn't understand Sucker Punch at all, that's why they panned it. Who's to say that they're praised for their work, did u read that anywhere? I didn't.
      The story is around 1 person named Sweet Pea who's in a mental home for the insane and she was about to be lobotomized by a doctor (The High Roller) who came in 5 days.
      Baby Doll is the reflection of Sweet Pea figuratively who was in a bad mental state and should be cured by this operation. The brothel and the action scenes were all imagination in Sweet Pea's mind. The escape of Sweet Pea in the end with that bus wasn't a real escape only in her mind, there she found her paradise. The other girls, her inmates weren't real, they were all different personalities of Sweet Pea.
      I admit that the movie is not a real popcorn movie, one should pay real attention in order to decipher the plot, but if you do then it's a brilliant movie. Zack Snyder is king and Jena Malone is a brilliant actress, just to let you know:

      Snyder is king? You realize he makes terrible movies with great visuals, right? 300 was amazing the first time, and is absolutely awful once the visuals aren't new and exciting. Watchmen is the closest he's come to a great film, but was only "pretty good" in my opinion. Man of Steel is impressive in a lot of ways and yet is still disjointed, messy, and lacking of any charm.
      Sucker Punch is essentially the "it was all a dream, and now she's better for it" plot which was tired the first time it was done. It doesn't make the movie brilliant, it makes the movie pointless and weak. The "real" parts of that movie aren't interesting, and the "imagined" stuff is disjointed. It has the plot of an arcade on-rails shooter.
      As far as the critics being respected: people like Peter Travers and Richard Roeper are some of the most well-respected movie critics and they both hated the movie. Just because you have poor taste doesn't mean it's a great movie.
      Just curious: what are your other favorite movies? And what performance of Jenna Malone cements her status as "brilliant"? The only decent performance I can recall is in Donnie Darko, and she wasn't particularly impressive in that movie, just serviceable.

      I know now you didn't understand Sucker Punch and Zack Snyder is a good director who's always refreshing with his movies. Jena Malone is a brilliant actress known for her facial expressions, probably you don't know much about her. Those names you mentioned aren't known to me and i doubt that they're important enough as being indicators for movie criticism. Do your homework right next time cause you're really talking nonsense. If you say it's just my opinion then i'll say ok it's your opinion but certainly not mine.

Nor A nor B are applicable cause everyone i talked to about the movie, most of them thought it was a good movie and they were surprised why the critics panned it completely including me.       The most people i was talking to said it was a good movie and they really were surprised why the critics panned it completely, it wasn't worth it to make it a flop.       How do you know that you know more about movies, cast, and directors than I do? I have about 350 DVDs and about 100 blu rays. I love movies. Most kinds of movies, in fact. I watch movies from around the world. I analyze them. I look for different things in different movies. I know movies well.
      Sucker Punch was a terrible movie and was regarded as such. It has a 23% on Rotten Tomatoes from the critics and a 47% from the general audience. It has an average score of 33 out of 100 on Meteoritic. It has an average rating of 6.1 on IMDB. It's okay that you like it; I would never try to take that away from you. But don't act like your feelings for the movie are objective, because clearly the majority of people disagree with the fact that it's even good, let alone "brilliant".

      Sucker Punch was NOT a terrible movie and i never said that it was a brilliant movie, i only said it was a good movie, i'm also a movie lover and i analyze them too on the plot, direction and acting of the cast. I've more movies than you think cause i've a big external memory where i store my downloaded movies. You only refer to Rotten Tomatoes but there are many other review sites which says otherwise. Don't claim that you're the one in the world who knows best about the movies, end of story.

      No, but you know acting is faking it right? Wes can easily pass for a guy around 28-30 when hes clean shaven. Affleck will play a batman in his forties, probably mid.
      How old is batman when he meets dick and how old is dick? I'd say a 15 year old difference is fine. This batman's been active for 20 years. Means he started at around 25. He meets dick in year 3 I believe, that's 28, means Dick was 12.
      Pretty much perfect if you ask me. Hell they could get away with dick being a few years older.
      Wes has the perfect Nightwing look. Remember, tim drake is already Robin in this film. If he's in it at all, but timewise.

      Radcliffe is a very talented actor. Explain why he shouldn't be allowed near this universe. I can definitely see him playing Nightwing. Rebellious, a heroic guy, good relationship with Warner Brothers, I can totally see him with Jean Malone as Oracle, he is extremely popular so that'll attract an audience (similar to what Christopher Nolan did with Man of Steel and that new space movie) and if you're worried about the accent, I'm fine with it but like Henry Cavill and Christian Bale, he can hide it
