As Batman News reported earlier, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be shooting at night today through Friday at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit. Instagram user mole6674 just looked out the window and saw the new Batmobile in all its glory! We've seen some official photos, but this is the first full look. What a beast of a vehicle... it looks like it'd eat the Tumbler for breakfast!

    Dude, this car is designed this way to have smaller front wheels than the back. It's not a mistake, it is meant to look like that because of the car type.
    Besides, I am glad it looks so much like the 89 Batmobile, finally we are through with the whole Tumbler idea, it sucked ass in my opinion.

      It appear to draw influence from the Warthog from the Halo series, mostly around the engine housing. I agree that it appears aesthetically similar to the 89' Batmobile, which reminds me what would a scale model of the H.R. Giger Batmobile look like?
      That design used a an X-frame suspension supporting independent twin wheel-mounts. At the center frame was a diver's cab with a bubble canopy. The entire vehicle had a bio-mechanical aesthetic making it appear as a mechanical life-form.
      While not Batman-esque it would be the most original version put on film and project a sense of fear and other worldliness. Undoubtedly it would catch the audience's attention and make a cinematic impact, by catering to Batman's use of psychological warfare.

        Finally a normal response unlike Atomic Loser, finally! So, well I do not play these games, but I guess it didn't destroy the purpose of looking like a Batmobile either. So whatever they did, they did an awesome job!
        I very much like the way it looks, but from the front it's a little hard not to compare it with the Arkham knight batmobile, but ONLY the front, but either way it is from now on, my most favorite Batmobile!
        By the way, have you seen it driving on video already? It's on Comicbookmovie! And it looks frickin great! This car is something what a man can only dream about having!

        Still love the Tumbler. This looks like a dune buggy. Batman doesn't need a chick-magnet ride; he needs something to scare the crooks and to do all the destruction he wants. The Tumbler did that.

        I don't understand why it has to be gigantic, doesn't make sense to me for it to be large. The tumbler is however huge. Just because it has a low profile does not mean its small. The thing is literally wider than a highway lane, has four freaking giant ass wheels on the back weighs two and a half tons (as a movie prop! The real thing would weigh much more).
        So it is by every good definition if "big" quite big. Why would we want it to be tall? Is batman going to be a 90lb suburban housewife driving in her SUV? Or the motherfuckigg batman driving in a cross between a lambo and a tank, let me remind you lambos aren't so tall..

        Not sure if you were agreeing or disagreeing with me there, that was kind of all over the place, sorry. ;)
        My only real point was that I believe the tumblr is smaller in actuality than how it was depicted in film. As bobpercent indicated, I think photos and film certainly and often inadvertently distort the perception of it. I just remember the first thing I thought when I saw it in person was, "damn that thing looks a lot smaller than I thought."
        Smaller than I thought indeed, but nonetheless considerable enough in size.

I hate lots of films... but I do what normal people do in these circumstances... and don't waste peoples time telling them that I hate the movie... the designs... the actors... etc. You should try concentrating your efforts on movies you are interested in. I'm not saying the purpose is for higher speeds but it appears to be much faster than the tumbler. The multiple layers also suggest it is very durable. I like this design very much.         Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the design. I would say any difference in speed between this and the tumbler would come down to power not wind resistance, both are essentially bricks.
        There are a lot of misconceptions about aerodynamics. Exposed wheels being aerodynamic is one of those. This looks more like that monster energy dune buggy than any track car I've seen.

    I thought the exact opposite... I think it's bigger than it needs to be. A smaller vehicle is more mobile and manoeuvrable. I always assumed that was why Batman had a Batbike – to allow him to travel everywhere in the city, unrestricted by a car size vehicle. Saying that I wouldn't want to see him in a little three-wheeler... but I don't think he needs a whacking great big hulk of a vehicle. I don't think he has the kind of 'issues' men who own big trucks (outside of work) have to be honest with you!!!

  One tiny alteration that I think would have liked to have seen though – had the doors been more gull-wing design in the way they open, then the vehicle could be driven with them open (or opening or closing) without them catching the wind and acting like sales... I think it would have looked better too. And would have allowed for a more dynamic entrance and exit by the man in black.
  Still, the overall design is excellent. It genuinely looks tough and durable, whereas some of the previous versions have looked a little fragile. This one also looks like it could actually be driven over all terrains (not that Batman movies have Mr Wayne travel out of the city).

    It's weird, I can't decide now what the better Hybrid between classic and tumbler is, Arkham Knight's or this.
    I love the buggy/F1 aspect of it. It's quit new and it exerts aggression in terms of speed and all-terrain nimble driving. I hope this all points to a very refined Batman.
    I LOOOOVE all the Nolan bat vehicles, but THIS car looks like a car from a man who knows and refined his vigilanteism equipment. The tumbler was frightening by sheer force, but this car is frightening by functionality and design. This car looks designed by Batman himself. Love it.

        Fuck that. This blind nostalgia towards TAS has to stop. It had a LOT of flaws and in no way was the definitive Batman. Killing Joke, DKR, Year One, , the Long Halloween, Batman Begins/Dark Knight- THESE are examples of definitive Batman. The animated series was a watered-down, albeit cool stylistically, version of Batman. Come off it people for christ's sake.

        I disagree with that. Maybe the Batman Forever Batmobile, would look a bit out of place in the Dark Knight Trilogy. But the other ones could work. In Rises, "The Bat" was pretty unrealistic, but it didn't take me out of the movie.

        I thought I was the only one who thought that. That looked like a spaceship that belongs on The Fortress of Solitude but it wasn't the Batplane that ruined the movie for me. It was the ending. It was inspired by The Dark Knight Returns and I hated that ending too. Batman is replaced by a B-List fighter and somehow all crime disappeared after The Dark Knight. Batman left a symbol so people can be inspired by him because he's not the hero Gotham City needs but he learned in the beginning of The Dark Knight if random people tried to fight crime they would die.

        Yeah, the 8 years off thing was weird. I think Nolan just wanted to have the Dent Act in there, just to have Harvey's "good" efforts, amount to something. Overall I enjoyed the film (mainly because of Hathaway's Catwoman). But I wish Talia's plan would have made more sense! I'm like, "How are you honoring your father's plan to destroy Gotham, by waiting several months, to detonate the bomb"?

They took a half truth pseudo science based claim and called it fact. They ignore the difference between continental and sea ice, and the fact that this was the largest WINTER sea I've coverage, which says nothing for Summer, which may have been lower than average.         I'm not sure what your argument against decades long peer reviewed population studies is. I am however sure that I would take them with fewer grains of salt than conjecture over single a complication of stitched together satellite photos.

        1. The testable hypothesis is stated in the quote and link I provided you. I see no reason to restate them since I find them rather succinct. Since the gathering of data over the last 30 years confirms the hypothesis I would say it began sometime around 30 years ago.
        2. I've never made the claims your objecting to here. Let me remind you also that you started the cavalier political debate on a batman site, not I.
        3. You don't seem to understand the common usage of the word vegetarian. I do eat eggs. That being said I don't think a novelist can give me better advice than my physician and nutritional science, both of which tell me I eat eggs by choice, not out of medical necessity.

        the thing is, no matter how much VFX is used in a movie, when it comes to vehicles they need to make vehicles which can be properly driven and can touch at least a speed of 60 miles per hour (100 KPH) so that means the tire's should be good and the braking and suspensions should be good and the outer shell has to be made durable enough (probably made with aluminum and steel or reinforced light weight carbon sheets) just like how Tumbler was made, so in real life both Tumbler and this new one are drivable and both are just heavy vehicles and both can be damaged in the same way, but when talking about it's power and capability in the movie, this will obviously eat Tumbler because this batmobile is gonna be used in a world full of aliens and super powered people, which means this new Batmobile is definitely much more advanced in technology, weaponry and every other way, and will make Tumbler look like yesterday's stuff

        I didn't mind the fantasy element missing from The Dark Knight Trilogy but I definitely hope they bring it to the DC Cinematic Universe. Especially with Snyder's CGI, it would be amazing to see for, really, the first time. 1989 Batman is a classic, and to me, always will be. The Joker was just purely taken from the comic books, it was astounding. I really liked Michael Keaton as Batman/Bruce Wayne. He did such a great job which I'm glad because he had little to no fan support going into it and proved them wrong.

        I did, too. I was never upset about that casting at all. It feels right and I believe he'll be able to bring out the both of Bruce and Batman. Yeah, the fantasy element is something that I really want to see in the live-action movies. I think it will shock a lot of people of what Batman is capable of even though he's a human.
        I know, it's just a great adaptation of the character and I believe always will be. Kilmer did do a great job as Bruce. I always felt he captured the emotionally scared Bruce perfectly.

        Actually, I thought taking out the fantasy aspect was great; especially after the overly abundance of it in the last 2 movies from the 90s. Removing nearly all the fantasy showed that this character could ALMOST exist. Thinking about my top 5 favorite Batman stories, the first 3 (Year One, The Cult, & Venom) are more in line with Nolan's interpretation then fantasy based.
        I also thought Gotham looked like a city then an overly elaborate set with statues & neon street toughs running around.
        To each his own.
