New 'Batman: Assault on Arkham' clip, available today on Blu-ray and DVD

Batman: Assault on Arkham has been available on Digital HD for a few weeks now, but today it's finally available on Blu-ray and DVD. To celebrate, Warner Bros. has released the clip above which features the Suicide Squad in action.

Gotham is in great danger when the government assembles a group of villains — code named the Suicide Squad — and forces them to break into Arkham Asylum to retrieve top secret information stolen by the Riddler. Things take a turn for the worse when one of the Squad members (Harley Quinn) frees the Joker, who is intent on blowing up Arkham Asylum and Gotham City. Batman must use his super hero wits and strength to thwart the wicked plans of the Joker and the Suicide Squad. Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) voices Batman, and joins forces with several Hollywood greats to bring the legendary characters to life. Adding to the celebrity-laden cast is Neal McDonough (Justified, Desperate Housewives) as Deadshot, Troy Baker (Batman: Arkham Origins, The Last of Us) as Joker, Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds) as Riddler, CCH Pounder (The Shield, Warehouse 13) as Amanda Waller, Greg Ellis (24) as Captain Boomerang, and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Revolution) as Black Spider. Renowned voice actors Hynden Walch and Jennifer Hale bring an added level of danger to the Suicide Squad as the voices of Harley Quinn and Killer Frost, respectively.

I got my copy early yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I wouldnt put it in the same level as TDKR or Under The Red Hood, but it was an original story. They put more focus on The Suicide Squad though, and also this is not made for kids.

I can't wait to get my copy. Also I am glad it isn't made for kids because certain Batman stories need a more adult tone to be told correctly.

  The story could have done just fine without some of the gratuitous sexy stuff, and would have been more suitable for wider audiences.

    It's truly a disturbing world that we live in, in which exploding heads and mass murder are okay but "Oh no, nipples! Human anatomy! Hide the children!"

      I didn't say I'd let my children watch it. My point is that it could have still been a gritty Batman story without including things that are off-putting even to a population of adults, including myself. You're welcome to watch and enjoy--that's your choice--but the case could easily be made (in this particular instance) that the violence does some service to the story here, while the other stuff is more played for cheap laughs and cheap thrills.
      I don't really have anything else to say about it, and I don't think it's constructive to argue on and on about it in comments, so if you follow up and I don't reply, please don't take it to be a means of offense—not my intention.

      I was making more of a general statement that your comment made me think of rather than a personal attack (I say this just to clarify, as I reread my own comment and thought it sounded a little bit more personal than I intended). Anyway, I basically took the movie as a crime/comedy mix (which goes in hand with Oliva's claimed Guy Ritchie influence), so cheap laughs actually have some precedence here to me.
      The main thing I have a problem understanding is why sexual content is so off putting to anyone in the first place though. I genuinely don't understand it, and I'd love it if you would try to explain your position on it as when I ask most IRL they never really respond other than in a cheap "things are the way the are" kind of way, but if you choose not to, no problem. I understand and wont take it as offense.

      Well, that's actually more a North American mentality. Places like Europe and South America are a lot more open towards sexuality.

    Personally i liked everything about this story and the way it was told. I also respect your opinion but I liked that it wasn't for little kids.

You don't have to see this clip, the movie itself is all over the internet. Just google "Batman Assault on Arkham watch online". In my opinion, and in contrast to Son of Batman this movie was awsome.
