Earlier this year it was reported that Ben Affleck would be working with trainer Rehan Jalali to get into Batman shape. Jalali previously helped Affleck get pumped up in 2010's The Town. With Batman vs. Superman scheduled to begin shooting next month, Jalali took to Twitter to give fans an update on Affleck's training:
At nearly 6'4", Ben Affleck will be the most physically imposing Batman we've seen on screen. And if Jalali has his way, Affleck will be the biggest/leanest/baddest Batman ever!

in one month? I dont know why they are rushing things, the final script isn´t ready yet.. and wonder woman is not in shape at all. perhaps they´ll be filming her at the end. and maybe they are going to start filming with the retired batman getting into shape, well it make sense, just a theory
Who says they're going to shoot the batman scenes as first? Batman fights mostly in the shade and i can imagine that they would focus on having sunny days and superman as a mix. Then when we get longer into shooting maybe, there will be more focus filming batman in the cold winter, with longer and darker days. Plus he is been working out ever since he got hired for the rolle or announced, plus you can do allot of workout in a month if you basically workout every second day.
tsss muscles need rest in order to build up, you cant be training all day, and this is a batman superman film, not a batman movie so there will be a lot of batman daylight scenes, but of course night scenes too.
He has trained for several months already, now he needs help to get leaner, that's it.

its because of kevin smith raving about the batsuit so now everybody (including myself) thinks they need to see the batsuit IMMEDIATELY when I belive WB has a set schedule on when to show the public stuff and also the Mark Hughes guy who just spews out wrong info in order to get the people hyped up...SDCC '14 we'll get our fix of Superman/Batman stuff and I'm sticking by it.
We haven't even seen Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's costumes or Vision's!!! Avengers: Age of Ultron is going up in flames!!! (I hope you realize the joke).

I have said this before, but I will say it again. Zack is same guy that brought us 300 and Henry Cavill (Man of Steel). There is no way he would have chosen Affleck if he didn't think he could get into pinnacle shape. Honestly, I don't see a reason to think otherwise.

Getting big enough to look the part isn't the issue. What matters is whether he can actually convince the audience he's Batman. Besides being a limited actor, Affleck is too famous to disappear into a character.

Since we have 3 confirmed superheros in this movie, I bet we get 3 Entertainment Weekly covers for the reveal. I would also be willing to bet that we will get those 3 covers the week before shooting actually begins. WB doesn't want the first pictures, of any of the 3, to be "spy" pics. You can definitely count on that! Don't worry folks, filming will be starting in less than a month (I think). Our patience is going to pay off and we will behold the EPICNESS that is DCs Trinity!

They'll both do fine. Do you seriously think comic book fans will not watch both movies back to back? So how will a tandem release hurt either? Most likely, it'll help being able to watch both the same day, or shortly thereafter. The only competition that day will be between the DC/Marvel fanboys duking it out on the theater parking lots.

So much "1st evers" are happeneing with this movie against captain america 3. it may be on schedule but it'll be wise to at least move it to june/july. Good point. Although I do remember the first time we saw "The Bat" from The Dark Knight Rises was from a spy pic. So hopefully WB learned their lesson on that front as well.
Thats right but lets not forget, that was the third vehicle of Bats. I bet Nolan wanted to play in on surprise by people who hadn't seen set pics or closely followed the marketing campaign. Other than that, just like with the Tumbler and the Pod, the Bat was more impressive in motion rather than when it is on the ground IMO. They looked very cool but damn impressive when in motion.
But with this, they have to show it before filming begins. It's quite quick for a new Batman and a new ride. I bet they want to take the upper hand (as they do with the costumes) and show the car before the sloppy set pics ;).
I think it would be awesome if we got a picture of Batman in his classic pose where his cape is draped over his shoulders (but still being able to see the symbol on his chest) and he is standing beside the new Batmobile. Kill two birds with one stone. That would make an AWESOME magazine cover!

Ben Affleck looked weak in The Town in 2010 so he's going to need to do much better training than that for 2014. His trainer has good results but why can't he teach it to Ben Affleck. Probably because Ben Affleck is way too lazy and mindless. He has millions of dollars and a free Hollywood schedule to find plenty of time and resources to accomplish that. In that picture he hasn't developed anything except for gray hairs. He needs to eat much more mineral rich foods with plenty of calories in them for his workout program. He doesn't look like he's taking steroids, and he doesn't look like he has good natural results either. He's just lazily relying purely on his height. He doesn't look like he's got the movements for Batman either, and he doesn't look like he's training for it for such a major movie.

So, anytime someone mentions a celebrity, athlete, politician, etc, should he/she use "Mr., Ms., or Miss?" When he typed "Ben" for Affleck, I wasn't under the impression Dennis was trying to play off like they were good buddies. I was under the impression Dennis was just using Ben's name.
Anytime I've met celebrities at comic conventions, I've always greeted them using their names...because its their name. Even though I see them as ordinary people, I don't act like they're my oldest friends.
I've never really understood the idea of referring to a celebrity by Mr/Ms <lastname>. Most of these people are what? Entertainers? Big deal. I've met some very powerful people in my day. My reservations about this are less that Affleck can pull this role off (I haven't seen anything lately that shows he's the same actor from 10 years ago). I'm more concerned with the idea of having an elder Batman in this new universe the movies are creating., I would have the same reservations regardless of the actor.
He's not an elder like kingdom come. The guy is 41! He's going to be an experienced batman.
Affleck, yes. Did they say anywhere Batman will be 41 in the movie? Add in some extra gray & he could be described as his 50s. Snyder filmed Jeffrey Dean Morgan aged as the Comedian in Watchmen. Affleck could get similar treatment.
And elder doesn't have to mean geriatrics. It can just mean older. A 41 year old Affleck is still an elder actor (both in age & experience) to a 30 year old Cavill.
Or, instead of adding grey, they could color it out and make him look younger. Is Supes in MoS supposed to be 30yr old? What we dont know is how long after MoS this movie takes place.
Kent stated he was 33 in MoS. Everything I've seen from initial casting possibilities to current information indicated Batman was going to be older. I keep picturing this movie universe will have a 'Batman & the Outsiders' feel.

I'm all for Affleck, and I know it's way too early to say, BUT, I really think he should have started training with an Olympic gymnests on the rings
I'm looking forward the most to the new Batman suit. Then the altered Superman suit (didn't thought it needed any changes, so I'm very anxious to see what they did with it!), then the Wonder Woman suit and of course the Batmobile! All before they start principal photography!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!

My guess is that the first photo of Ben in the suit will be the same weekend Captain America opens. That's what I'd do. Totally take the focus off Marvel.
i could be mistaken, but the first official picture we got of batman's new suit in the dark knight was sometime after filming started. I have a feeling we wont see affleck's suit til mid to late april. once again, i could be totally wrong.
