Ben Affleck is getting into the best shape of his life for Batman vs. Superman with the help of trainer Rehan Jalali. Jalali just tweeted a photo with Affleck with the caption "Getting Batman more pumped than ever!"

Jalali previously helped Affleck get pumped up in 2010's The Town. Affleck has been working out so much that the costume designer on a movie he did a couple of months ago asked him to stop bulking up. At nearly 6'4", Ben Affleck will be the most physically imposing Batman we've ever seen on screen! Check out some photos of Affleck in The Town in the gallery below.

        It's nothing at all to do with her size. Like I said, bulking up and costumes aside. I've only seen her in clips but she always seems more of a wet dumpling, rather than a fiery biscuit.

    Bale's Batman isn't really true to comics if you ask me. his Bruce Wayne in some parts is but I won't dissect it to much because that was better out of the two...now his Batman wasn't at all "comic to onscreen translation" because they had obvious differences (easily fooled, not a good fighter, had fox help him out all the time) it was weak and it felt awkward with his step-by step fighting style idk that's just me. and watchmen is the most underrated CBM of all-time

        you can argue that! maybe it's the overall movie itself that makes people think that no mmatter how good or bad Bale's Batman is, the movies are great which = a great Batman in many people's eyes. I liked Bale's bruce wayne and his bats at times but c'mon he was really fucking stupid at times.

It's as if it's all the physicality of past Batman iterations combined, escalated, and finally perfected. I really can't wait to see how they infuse the detective aspect into the script and on screen and the fighting. THE FIGHTING! How will it be done? With him taking full command of potential bat drones (pictured) and finally going toe-to-toe with Superman somehow (pictured with kryptonite ring?)?
Mark my words: Every naysayer will disperse from the internet with their criticisms once the movie debuts and has obliterated the box office.

    I liked the theatrical version better. The directors cut just seemed unnecessarily longer to me. I would imagine if you didn't like the normal one, the director's cut would be excruciating.

I see the fanboy pendulum has swung from "BATFLECK IS GOING TO BE TERRIBLE!!!!" all the way to the other end with "BEN AFFLECK IS GOING TO BE THE GREATEST BATMAN EVER!!!!"
I think Affleck will do just fine, but let's not lose perspective over the fact that Christian Bale delivered a fully realized performance as Bruce Wayne and Batman from beginning to the end of his particular story.

  Respectfully, I disagree. Bale was not a great Batman. Better than anything before him (Keaton is a close second, but was too revenge driven/bloodthirsty, not physically imposing in anyway), but no where close to comics, TAS, or Justice League animated series. Bale did very little detective work. When he was in a room with Al Ghul, Dent, Joker, or Bane he always seemed inferior in smarts. You never get that sense when Batman's in the room with anyone, even if its Luthor or Darkseid in JLA. Bale came across as scrappy, determined, and altruistic, but not brilliant. He's kind of like a rich Rocky-type with a little more intellect and brooding all the time.
  I get Nolan wanted a "believable" Batman, but Batman having a hard time fighting off some dogs? He trained with the League of Shadows, but can't handle taking out a couple pit bulls before they take off his arm?
  I love Nolan's rendition of Gotham, the Joker, Gordon, Dent, Alfred, Al-Ghul...even Bruce Wayne, but he doesn't quite get the Batman.
  Don't know if Affleck will pull it off, but Bale won't be my standard for him.

      If I was running WB, I'd buy a commercial during the Superbowl and put together an announcement trailer. Don't even need much new footage, though they could certainly do something in some studio somewhere. But they could just cut together some clips from MoS fading in and out to black. And each time they go to black it has a cast member listed. Start off with Cavill, Adams, Fishburne and all them, then announce all the new people. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Blah Blah as Lex Luthor, Blah Blah as Doomsday or whoever. The last one just comes up with "And Ben Affleck".
      Have some Zimmer music playing during all this and on to of that, you have that dude who did The Dark Knight Returns speech at Comic Con redo it in a studio and make it sound all bassy and cool and stuff. Time it so he finishes with "the one man who beat you" as Affleck's name is on screen. Then the whole thing goes completely dark and silent for a few beats. Slowly fade back in with Affleck in full costume standing on a ledge, he jumps off and glides away. Bats fly in from the sides covering the screen and out of the bats emerges the title. Whole world goes bat-shit, turns off the stupid football game and goes to Fandango.

        More time? TDK was in 2008. It's 2014 and a Batman reboot is coming soon. JL is coming most likely in 2016. then we'll get solo standalones depending on the order it'll be over 10 years since Ledger's portrayal and that's time enough. You dont just not do a character because someone did amazing in it 6 years ago. Ledger would want the character to live on and to be portrayed by other actors. The Joker role isn't Ledger's. it's going to be rebooted.

I'm just saying it bothers me when people say they're rushing and they're trying to catch-up to Marvel when they're really playing catch-up with themselves after 7 years of a batman that wasn't in a shared universe and rebooting Superman. they're doing a good job now it just seems like in-house problems they had to tweak before they get off the ground

    I always find it funny when people talk about Superman Returns failing.
    Superman Returns - 391 million box office.
    Batman Begins - 374 million box office.
    There's no doubt in my mind that franchise would've grown had they continued it, particularly with the plans they had for the 2nd one with Metallo, Brainiac and the set up for New Krypton. The possibility of Bale and Routh uniting could've been a huge difference maker in this whole DC/Marvel movie "war".

      exactly my point. It wouldn't have been connected anyway because Nolan has stated his trilogy is self-contained and not connected to the rest of the DC universe but thank goodness it didn't happen due to snyder/goyer/affleck/cavill/gadot being much more exciting to see

        Actually it did very well critically. It's at 76 on Rotten Tomatoes and 72 at Metacritic. That's MUCH better than Man of Steel did and pretty much tied with Begins.

      The problem was Superman Returns was one of the most expensive films ever made. In fact, Man of Steel, released 7 years later and in 3D, with a lot more visual effects, was actually cionsiderably cheaper. I guess Singers isn't good with budgets, because the new X-Men movies is again one of the most expensive.

        SR cost 204. The 260-270 number that gets floated around includes expenditures from the previous attempts such as the Burton and the McG ones. This was talked about fairly extensively in the documentary in the Superman boxset. Even when there was NO particular movie in the works, WB still had a number of employees, such as costume designers and FX people, constantly working on ideas for a potential Superman movie. All these expenditures got rolled over into SR's budget even thought a most of had nothing to do with the movie and was done years before Singer came aboard.
        As the wiki says: "Taking into account the development costs since the early 1990s, total expenditure is estimated to be around $263 million"
        Why should THIS movie be held responsible for some dumbass decision WB made in the early 90s?

        Every movie has development costs. This movie needs to be recouped and it is part of the budget. Disney's Tangled also had a high budget due to being almost a decade in development, in several incarnations. Same goes for Frozen, whose budget includes all development for The Ice Queen. Either way, that's how it works and US$ 270 million was the money the movie had to recoup (not to mention at least another 100 - 150 million in P & A).
        That is how it works. It may not be fair, but yes, this movie is responsible for all development costs. Money doesn't grow on trees and investments need to be repaid. A number of films go through this and Superman Returns isn't special to be the only one pardoned.

        The fact Returns did not have a sequel kind of proves my point tough. The people who spent 270 million trying to get a Superman movie off the ground didn't get the bang for their buck.
        These decisions are made based on business, not fairness or fandom.

        It is a fact that all movies carry over previous develop costs into their budgets. That is how the business work and it is a fact.
        Otherwise, all movies would be a lot cheaper.
        Money doesn't magically grow in trees. The US$ 65 million has to be accounted for somewhere and needs to be recouped.
        Those are facts you can't seem to be able to grasp.
        You are wrong, that is a fact. But that has been a fact since you have been disputing Forbes as a source using Wikipedia.

    Seems like I've offended you lmaooo dont get me wrong i like TDK. and yes Nolan did make Bats popular again with his movies but true batman fans knew 2 things: 1. it wasnt the REAL batman and 2. we weren't going to see Bale and Caine and Freeman having a conversation with Superman or GL or Flash. That was our dream! just pissed Nolan didnt go the selfish route and connected his trilogy with the rest of the cinematic universe. you and all other DK trilogy fans agree with me as well. tone down the realism and not take these comic-book movies so seriously and "de-power" everything to pass it off as a realism. Chill tf out because iit is not that serious my dude...go find something else to get rowdy about.

I give props to Nolan for making Batman cool again amongst the movie world, but I would've loved to see a more comic-book Batman adapted on screen. It's a comic-book character after all, dont take it to seriously but also don't not take it to seriously.

        After 2013 MOS, Nolan's DONE with CBM's. So that's good news. SNyder/Goyer/Affleck can finally do their own thing without worrying about Nolan's 'realismness' hindering the final product. Now we can get true straight from the comics, Super Cavill, Batfleck on the big-screen together and it's going to be epic

        man of steel was closer to the comics than all of nolan's movies and even a smart nolanite will tell you that. the fact that you slander a cbm that's true to the comics as far as a true origin story, showcasing Superman's powers effectiveley, his strong supporting cast who give him a connection to the human world. yes it all works. it just goes to show that Nolan's 7 year span of Batman movies really made the general public think he's the god of Batman when really, according to David Goyer...HE DIDN'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BATMAN. Goyer had to tell Nolan to put a utulity belt on Batman because Nolan thought he didnt wear one smh. and cool you found a video about the negativity of MOS...theres ones on TDK trilogy as well, dont act like there isnt

        imo, darker, grittier CBM's are better. you can have the lightheartedness and the humor at times but not over do it (Avengers) mos had no room to humorize or lighten things up. the job was to reboot Supes in a badass way so we can finally have a superman film we can be proud of. any shred of marvel style comedy in MOS and it would've been panned sooo hard by critics and audiences. am i right?
